Ariana and I walked across the street to where a small cafe was and I order us two lemonades. I bring over the two drinks to the table where Ariana was waiting for me.

"Thank you." She smiles.

"My pleasure." I reply taking a seat across from her.

"So, J.D. tell me about yourself." She says as she takes a sip of her lemonade.

"I mean, history practically speaks for me." I chuckle looking down briefly.

"Maybe, about your past. But what about your now? Your future?" She questions making me look up to meet her curious eyes.

"I'm um, just living day by day. I feel like I've lived so long not knowing if I'd see tomorrow that I don't know how to plan ahead." I chuckle leaning back in my seat.

"But what about you? What branch did you serve?" I ask.

"I actually worked with the CIA oversees." She says and I raise my brows surprised.

"Really?" I ask making her chuckle.

"Yes that's why I don't really talk about my past because I can't really." She explains and I nod.

"I understand, I can't really explain what I did either." I shrug.

As soon as I made it back to the Tower I was bombarded with questions by Sam and Bucky to why I came back later than usual while Steve tried to get them to back off. But at the end I told them that I was out with someone.

"How was the sex?" Sam asks catching me off guard making Bucky crack up while Steve blushes.

"There was no sex." I shake my head and they stop.

"So you just hung out with a woman and had no sex? Are you sick or something?" Sam furrows his eyebrows.

"Yeah I mean you were having one night stands left and right." Buck adds and I roll my eyes.

"There was no sex. We just talked." I tell them.

"About what?" Steve asks curiously.

"Well about the meetings and stuff, but neither of us haven't really opened up about personal stuff since it's the first time we've really talked." I explain.

"And can we please not mention this in front of Natasha?" I tell them lowly.

"Mention what?" I hear behind me and my eyes close.

"Hey Nat." I smile turning around to face the blonde.

"Hey. Now what can't you guys mention in front of me?" She raises a brow.

"That um-

"That J.D. was planning on ditching her meeting." Bucky says and I turn to him with a 'wtf' look.

"But I didn't. I went." I chuckle not believing that was Bucky's best lie.

"Well we gotta train. Later J.D." Sam pats my knee as the Three Stooges leave while I mentally curse at them knowing damn well their asses don't need to train right now.

"So how was your meeting?" Natasha asks sitting on the couch next to me.

"It was good. I shared for the first time." I tell her.

"Wow I'm so proud of you J.D. really." She smiles.

"Anything else you did today?" She asks.

"Um no." I say looking down at my hands.

"Why are you lying? You're a horrible liar." She tells me softly as she turns to me making me sigh.

"It's nothing Natasha, really." I shake my head.

"Then why can't you just tell me? We're friends, you can trust me." She says and I look up.

"It's just that, after, I spent time with someone from the meeting. Got to know them." I shrug and she doesn't say anything for a minute.

"Why didn't you want to tell me?" She chuckles lightly.

"I don't know. 'Cause y'know-

"J.D. you're single. You can do anything you want." She says amused.

"Really? So it's not weird for you?" I ask.

"No. We agreed to be friends. I'm not expecting you to be single forever like I bet you're not expecting that from me." She shrugs and I nod slowly processing her words.

"Right, right." I mumble.

"So who are they? What did you guys do?" She then asks.

"Oh, her name was Ariana and I just took her out for some lemonade." I say then check my phone as it dings.

"Shit it's Vision. I'll see you later Nat." I add leaving the living room.

"Huh...lemonade." Natasha mumbles to herself.
