11:28 am

Sam and I trail back into the tower laughing our asses off and kept adding stupid things to make us laugh harder until we were gasping for air holding onto each other as we walked near the kitchen.

"Where the hell have you two been?" We hear and turn to see Steve, Bucky and Natasha looking at us from the living room.

"*chuckles* We've been *wipes under eye* out." I say as I try to keep my laughter under control while Sam tries to do the same.

Steve gives me an unamused look.

"Well I can see that!" He exasperates, trying to keep calm but not doing a very good job.

"Bucky said he saw you guys leave like at midnight. It's 11:30. Where have you guys been for almost 12 hours?" He asks and I sigh finally being able to settle down.

"Wanna take it from hear, Wilson?" I ask patting Sam's bicep and walk to the kitchen.

"Wait- what-

I hear footsteps following me.

"J.D. we were worried about you guys. You can't just leave in the middle of the night without telling anyone or leaving a note." I hear Steve say as I open the fridge getting two waters.

I toss one to Sam as he comes over to me and he catches it. I then open mine, taking a sip while I lean back against a counter. A satisfied sigh escapes my lips from the rehydration the cold water provided me.

"Soo you're just gonna ignore me?" Steve asks.

"I'm so glad I don't really get hangovers 'cause this would've done a number on me." I mumble over to Sam who stifles a laugh with a clear of his throat.

I then turn to see the other three still waiting for my statement.

"Look I just don't know what you want me to say. We went out to have some fun. Clear our heads. I don't think I have to tell anyone anything since I'm the oldest person in the whole building." I shrug taking another sip.

"That doesn't mean we don't worry." Bucky breaks his silence.

A bitter chuckle escapes my lips with a shake of my head as I push myself off the counter.

"Look, Steve. I offered J.D. to go out. It was my idea, we honestly just lost track of time. She really knows how to have fun." Sam explains making the blonde sigh.

"Just- just check in next time." He says, softening not liking to argue.

I just go over to the living room plopping down on the couch closing my eyes briefly. I then hear footsteps making my eyes open and I turn to see Hill walk by over to the kitchen talking to the others. I wait a couple of minutes and shes walk away down the hall. I casually get up from the couch and follow her.

"Hey, Hill." I call out not that loud in case the others heard me.

She stops and turns around and furrows her eyebrows when she sees me.

"Well don't you look like a hot mess." She says looking at me up and down making me roll my eyes.

"You talk to Fury?" I ask and she sighs.

"Yes." She nods.

"And?-

"No." She continues making me groan.

"Why not?" I huff frustrated bringing a hand up to my face and scratch my eyebrow.

"You need a break-

"I'm fine." I extend my arms out.

"You are not fine, Barnes. You just saying you are doesn't mean you actually are." She tells me and I shake my head.
