Ch 44

Sam's eyebrows furrow.

"Wha-

"So lunch anyone?" Tony asks cutting him off and I hear the others agree.

"You hungry?" Sam asks turning back to me.

"No, not really." I shake my head stuffing my hands in my pockets.

"I'll just be in the training room." I add, turning back and heading inside.

I get inside the training room and check my phone wishing to see a message saying I can catchup with the SEAL team. A sigh escapes my lips but my they tug up a bit when I see my wallpaper. It was me and the SEAL guys in our uniforms at a base, the faces and poses that were among us made my mood pick up immensely. This photo is a great replacement from what was my wallpaper.

I shake my head brushing my thoughts away as I put my head phones in and begin my rigorous training again. I was sweating a lot and my long sleeve was making me feel claustrophobic as I keep tugging at it to feel some coolness hit my skin since I was adamant of not taking it off even though I was alone.

After a few hours I head back to my room and take a well needed shower. After I was done I change and throw a hoodie over my head even though it wasn't cold at all but I needed to buy long sleeve T-shirts.

I sigh and make my way to the living room hoping to find it empty but was wrong when I see Pepper, Wanda, Natasha, Sam and Steve.

"Well welcome back." Pepper smiles as she sees me making the others turn to me.

"Thank you Pepper." I smile softly I try not to look over at Natasha even though I feel her eyes burning into the side of my face.

We haven't had another interaction since last night at the bar and I'm trying to keep it that way.

"Well the princess is all changed. Won't be fussy for a while now." I hear Tony say making me turn around and one of my eyebrows raises in confusion.

"Whoa. Didn't know SHIELD started recruiting babies." I say as I see the small child in his arms.

The billionaire smiles warmly, the proudness practically radiating off of him.

"Barnes, this is Morgan. My daughter." He says coming over and my eyes widen in slightly.

"You made her? But she's so cute and you're..you know." I tilt my head slightly.

"Well Pepper had input." He rolls his eyes and I chuckle.

"How old is she?" I ask.

"A year and three months." Pepper answers.

Wow. I guess I did miss a lot.

"Wanna hold her?" Tony offers and I swallow thickly.

"Uh I don't know. She's so small-

"You're not gonna crush her." He chuckles.

"Besides it looks like she's drawn to you." He continues as the child looks at me with her big beautiful doe eyes.

I make eye contact with her making her smile and reaches her arms out to me trying to wiggle out of Tony's arms.

"Alright." I smile and Morgan is passed over to me.

I go to sit next to Steve at the end of a couch.

"Hey." I smile at the kid.

Morgan then smiles grabbing the dog tags that hanged around my neck.
