Ch 7

I walk into the lab where Banner and Stark were working on locating the Tesseract.

The two men look at each other not knowing whether to acknowledge the soldier or not.

I walk over to some monitors looking at the screens not particularly looking for anything specific since I don't understand them, just to distract myself.

"You're a quiet character huh Sargsicle?" Stark says coming next to me.

Silence.

"You speak English? Sign language? *hand gestures* Habla Español?" He continues.

I roll my eyes moving over looking at a different screen I don't understand.

"Phase Two? What's Phase Two?" Bruce says getting Starks attention and he makes his was to him.

They look over at the bigger screen. I hear the door open meaning someone else has walked in.

"What are you doing Mr.Stark?" Fury asks.

"Uh, kind of been wondering the same thing about you." He responds.

"You're supposed to be locating the Tesseract." Fury tells him.

"We are, the model's locked and we're sweeping for the signature now. When we get a hit we'll have the location within half a mile." Banner speaks up.

"And you'll get your cube back, no muss, no fuss. What is Phase Two?" Stark asks and someone barges into the lab slamming a huge HYDRA gun on the table.

"Phase Two is SHIELD used the Cube to make weapons." Steve says before he turns to me.

"You were right." He says and I nod with a tilt of my head taking a seat as he turns his attention to Stark.

"Sorry, computer was moving a little slow for me." He adds.

"Rogers, we gathered everything related to the Tesseract. This does not mean that we're-

"I'm sorry, Nick." Stark cuts Fury off as he turns a screen towards him.

"What were you lying?" He then asks.

"I was wrong, Director. The world hasn't changed one bit." Steve says.

Then Natasha and Thor enter the lab and Banner turns to the agent.

"Did you know about this?" He asks.

"You wanna think about removing yourself from this environment, Doctor?" She tells him and he laughs.

"I was in Calcutta, I was pretty well removed." He retorts.

"Loki's manipulating you." She says.

"And you've been doing what exactly?" He raises an eyebrow.

"You didn't come here because I bat my eyelashes at you." She counters and I shake my head taking a long swig from my flask.

"Yes, and I'm not leaving because suddenly you get twitchy." He scoffs.

"I'd like to know why SHIELD is using the Tesseract to build weapons of mass destruction." He continues.

"Because of him." Fury points to Thor.

"Me?" He asks completely confused.

"Last year earth had a visitor from another planet who had a grudge match that leveled a small town. We learned that not only are we not alone, but we are hopelessly, hilariously out gunned." Fury says.

"My people want nothing but peace with your planet." Thor defends.

"But you're not the only people out there, are you? And, you're not the only threat. The world's filling up with people who can't be matched, they can't be controlled." Fury says.
