Early Dawn

It was early, I didn't go to sleep after I spent the night with Natasha. I couldn't. If I wanted to help Natasha get her friend back I needed answers. So, I was making my way to where they had Loki incarcerated, but I wasn't the only one with the same plan. When I walk in I was expecting to see Loki alone but he wasn't. I see Natasha was also here as I turn the corner but quickly retreat so I wouldn't interrupt.

But not quick enough, Loki smirks as he caught a glimpse of the super soldier and decides to use this to his advantage.

I overhear Natasha ask Loki about Barton.

"Is this love, Agent Romanoff?" I hear Loki ask.

"Love is for children. I owe him a debt." She responds and I look down when I hear the first part.

"What about that Sergeant Brawns?" Loki then asks making me raise an eyebrow picking up my head.

"It's Sergeant Barnes and what about her?" Natasha asks.

"Have you gotten to know her? To make it easier for her to cooperate. After all that's your specialty, making people feel a certain way for your benefit." He smirks and Natasha crosses her arms over her chest.

"*shrugs* So I had a side assignment. I have a job to do. No room for distractions." She responds indifferently.

I look down swallowing thickly and turn to leave.

"Leaving so soon? I was hoping to get acquainted, soldier." I hear making me stop and my jaw clenches.

I turn the corner revealing myself and Natasha looks like a deer caught in head lights before she turns back to Loki figuring out that he had set her up.

"I don't care to get acquainted to someone like you." I say dully as I get closer to his cell.

"My apologies, would like some privacy?" He says motioning to Natasha and my jaw clenches as I step forward to the glass box.

"Sarg-

I ignore Romanoff so I'm face to face with Loki against the glass.

"Look I honestly don't care if you're from a mythical land or whatever but you're on Earth now and apparently that's my jurisdiction. You're lucky you're in this box because it's for your safety, and the moment you're out and in my line of sight, I will skin you alive and use you as an example to anyone else who plans to pay Earth a visit with a similar intent." I grit emotionless staring into his eyes straight to his soul which actually concerned Natasha.

Loki's confidence falters for a second before he smirks.

"So there's darkness behind the silence." He says with a smirk.

"I've got to say I have respect for you Captain- I mean Sergeant. Sorry, I'm used to dealing with people with higher power." He says and I chuckle which confuses Loki.

"You think degrading my title gets in my head?" I ask raising a brow.

"Well if there's a brain in there and not just ground animal meat." He tilts his head and my jaw clenches.
