It's dark. Some light is peeking through the darkness but I can see nothing but faint amalgamations of colors. My body is also feeling sore especially my arms and neck. I pull my eyelids and a whole new world welcomes me.

T-this place... Isn't this our classroom? I look at my body. It seems I'm in my assigned seat right near the teacher's table. A smile forms at my lips. I always loved sitting at the front to stop myself from cheating whenever there's a test. Somehow, it makes me proud doing something on my own without someone else's help.

I raise my upper body from the desk where I am resting, straining a groan as I do so. It seems I had fallen asleep at class. At the top of the classroom's green board, I can see the clock showing the time. It's twelve and a half an hour at noon. Lunch just started I guess.

The classroom's door suddenly opens. A group of boys and girls around my age steps inside with familiar packed lunchboxes sold at our school's cafeteria. They each had grins on their lips as they approach me.

One of the boys with a brown patch of hair smilingly places a packed lunch on my desk. His action creates a welcoming effect on my ears and makes my tummy growl. I glance at the food. Fried chicken dipped in curry sauce and a cup of rice. It's the same meal we eat everyday at school but it never tastes old.

"What's good birthday boy?" The dude asks with expectant eyes.

I roll mine as a response to him before I start tearing apart the plastic wrapper of my lunch. Since I'm turning eighteen today, they've bugging me to treat them to some place to eat. Tsk! For all I know, they're just trying to get revenge on me for doing the same on their birthdays.

"Sure. Whatever Kyle! At Pizza Mansion after school. M-my treat," I reply with much difficulty. There goes my allowance.

"Stop being a scrooge bro. It's your birthday, a day where you have to hand out gifts to your friends!" Kyle declares, a righteous expression on his face as he announces to the class the supposed 'nature' of this day.

"Shouldn't it be the other way around?" I bump my fist on his head to make him shut up.

The others starts laughing as they watch the scene unfolding right in front of them. Among them is a girl named Suzy with a short hairstyle that resembles an apple. She pokes at my abdomen with a cheeky grin.

"Hey Mike, you said you're gonna show us something last night. What's up with that?" Suzy asks and then leans her back on her chair.

Right. I remember bragging to them about my grandpa's pendant. My grandpa treasured the pendant so much he never let anyone touch it. To think that he would actually have me inherit it.

No one expected him to do this until the a lawyer came yesterday and told him that my grandpa who had passed away about a year ago actually wanted me to inherit his precious baby. Then I bragged how I got it and that I would bring it today.

I place a hand on my bag before I start rummaging the contents. Notebooks, pens, perfumes, and others clutter. Eh? It's not here.

"Looking for something?" A sharp female's voice sounds out from behind me.

Unconsciously, my body moves away from my chair before my head turns so I can shoot a glare at the person who just spoke. A head with smooth flowing red hair, oval shaped face, and a smooth skin. From her bearing, one can definitely say she's from a high class household and it's definitely true as Regina Perry is the only daughter of a rich traditional clan located in our neighborhood. A few months ago, even someone like me who can barely give a care about other's appearances can't help but admire her beauty. A few months ago that is.

It was probably my glare or that I'm not speaking but her eyebrows starts to furrow. She stretches out her right hand, the one she's using to hold a bronze pendant before she started speaking. "It rolled right out of your bag to my chair when you were asleep."

My hands move to take the pendant from her hands and then I made my gaze match hers for a second before I move my head to nod. "...Thanks!"

A simple reply was all I have. After that, I turn around and start led shoving the pendant inside my pocket for as deep as I can store it. Somehow, I lost all the motivation to brag the pendant to my friends.

Sensing something wrong, the others who were originally chatting turned quite. They started arranging the desks which forms a circle so they can finally eat. A sigh leaves my mouth before I also land on my chair.

Through my peripheral vision, I can see Regina looking outside through the glass windows. No one tried talking to her for various reasons so she's all alone.

I probably shouldn't have acted like that. A feeling of guilt grips my heart for a second before I turn my attention to my food.

"Was that an earthquake?" Kyle stands up from his chair with panic written on his face.

"I didn't feel anything," Suzy replies while sending him a weird look.

Yeah. He's probably just paranoid. I mean, we did experienced earthquakes for the past few months. Sometimes, I also mistake random movements for earthquakes so I can understand why he's acting like that.

My body along with my chair suddenly move upwards for a moment. I can feel my heart pound my chest alongskde the movement.

"Kyle! Stop kicking-" My words are cut short when I saw my classmates. They're holding on to their chairs with shock and fear.

Before any of us could get a word out of our mouths, a bright white circular light appears. It encompasses the entirety of our classroom, trapping around fifteen of us students in its encirclement. Glyphs or runes, whatever they may be called, can be seen all around the circle.

What is happening here? I glance at my classmates and they look just as clueless and scared as I am.

Suddenly, the world starts shaking. The air, the floor, the chairs, everything! I can feel some force trying to lift my body from the ground. It's the same for everyone. We're levitating on air without anything supporting us.

The light from the circle starts to get brighter and brighter until it starts swallowing our bodies. I can see my classmates disappearing one after another. Just like them, the light is now devouring my body too.

Suddenly, a red mist rises from my clothes and starts covering my body from head to foot. I look below. The red mist is coming out of my pocket...What's this?

A chill starts spreading from my head to my foot. It's like a being put inside a freezer and unable to move. I can feel myself slowly losing grip of my consciousness. It didn't take too long. Finally, a world of darkness meets me.
