The earth is shaking and debris are falling everywhere. This scene happening around me depicts a scene of utter chaos. As much as I try to calm my nerves, it can't be helped that anxiety is building in my heart.
I'm currently mid-air, doing various acrobatic movements while flying in order to dodge the incoming rocks which aim on pounding me into dust. These rocks are the materials which compose the golems that are currently attacking me. Two of these golems are blocking my way outside of the cave I'm in while another one is behind to complete their encirclement.
Tsk! I thought these guys only follow a pattern of attacks. To think that they can actually do formations and trapping measures too. Just when are those guys gonna finish setting up the trap so I can finally get this over with?
Three bat type monsters suddenly appear right in front of me. Using their bodies, the incoming attacks from the golems are forced to stop. In exchange however, the bats explode into black smoke. The small health bars right next to them fades away, signifying that these creatures summoned from the Summon Bats skill are dead.
I click my tongue before flapping my wings in one big notion. A rain of mana arrows falls down upon the three golems and pushes them back. Despite the great amount of attacks though, barely any health points were shaved off from them.
These guys have a crazy amount of defense. I currently lack a skill that can be called a finishing move so there's no way to kill them aside from wasting a stupid amount of time sending out mana bullets and arrows. They're crazily strong and if it wasn't for their slow speed, I'd probably be dead by now.
"Is it finished yet? I'm gonna die here!" I started screaming internally, my breathing becoming hurried in the process of doing so.
This act of splitting my focus to be makes it too late for me to realize that a fist is now about to land on my face. A shield made of mana appears and blocks the attack but only for a second before it starts breaking into pieces.
My body moves higher until I almost make contact with the ceiling. In this way, the fist misses its target and lands on the shoulders of another golem. The two creatures of rocks and crystals are not planning on starting a fight though. It seems they aren't programmed to do that. Instead, they started picking up fallen boulders in order to throw to me.
"Kuweek! Finish Finish!" Shrill voices are resounding inside my head. The voices are a bit unnerving in this heated battle. It seems that I'll have to remind them to fix the way they speak when I have the time.
I quickly start making my way to the entrance of the cave in currently in. Just near the exit, two pillars of blue crystals that pierced the ground acted like guards. They serve as the barrier that stops the golems from leaving this place.
Just a meter away from the crystals is a wide pit that stopped anyone from coming in or out of the cave. Anyone that can't fly that is. I can't identify how deep is this pit is but if my surbodinates properly followed my instructions, they should be about ten meters deep, something even the four meter tall golems can't escape easily.
Coincidentally, my subordinates which numbers to three bats are hanging upside down right above the pit. As soon as they caught sight of me, the bat-like creatures started cheering. I ignore them to fully focus on escaping from my pursuers. The golems on the other hand didn't seem to notice the pit right ahead of us. Stupid rock heads!
The moment I reached the pit, I quickly stopped moving and hanged myself from the ceiling. On the other hand, the golems who are intent on crushing me trips on the edges of the pit and starts falling down. Accompanied by a loud thud, their bodies landed on the newly dug pit.
"Attack!" I screamed telephatically to the trio.
As for the things that happened right after, they were not that exciting. Basically, we just rained attacks upon the three golems until their health points fell to zero. The moment they died, they dispersed into fragments of rocks and dust that stayed in the air for few seconds before they dispersed.
So no level ups, huh? No screens with messages giving me a congratulatory message appears even after a minute has passed. Is it because the golems are not real creatures?
A sigh escapes my mouth as my gaze switches from the empty air to the pit. Right atop the rubble formed by the dead golems, a glowing red ball of light that wasn't there before is currently hovering a few inches away from the ground. With a speed that my eyes can't keep properly, it flies and enters my head.
It's a strange feeling. I'm getting the feeling as if the place ahead is trying to welcome me. As expected, this place is really the way to the next floor. Then the red light must be the key.
A rumbling sound resounds. It came from ahead. Rocks scattered on the ground starts gathering without anyone moving them. It's a kind of view one can normally see in a fantasy movie. Not long after, the rocks starts compacting until they became three new golems. Based on appearance alone, they resembled the previous golems perfectly.
It's as if somebody had ordered them but they suddenly started moving back and forth place. My body turns taut but relaxes after a while. It seems they have no intention of moving against me. It's probably because I received that red light from before.
Now as for the next floor. It'd be nice to go there right now and evolve once again but I'm not really not sure what's below there. The enemies in this floor alone are already quite strong. There's a huge chance of death if I jump carelessly down there right now.
Right! I should strengthen myself a little bit more. Besides, there's still those guys from before. I didn't make any promises but I still remember the things they've done before. It's time for some payback!
