In this world, there are a lot of things you're not expecting to happen. Like meeting the sole holder of the most valuable arcane craft in the world. True Mirror, the treasure that grants the ability for all creatures in the world to easily make their evolutions as well as view their body's information. For humanoids, it might not be that important but as for monsters, they are able to freely choose their evolutionary forms.
This world has three powerful objects known as the World Treasures and the most valuable one is the True Mirror. 0riginally created by a demon arcane craftsman from ancient times to accelerate his fellow monster race's evolution, the treasure was somehow lost in time. Some sources say it's currently hidden deep in the ocean while others spoke of it as a mere legend. This information is an excerpt from "Corners of The World of Mundo" by Horned Fairy.
As for treasure, it's actually currently being held by the girl tied up in my laboratory. Hmm... What should I do? Now that she's shown her worth, I can't just kill her now, can I? This person is very convenient. It's a huge waste to just dispose of her.
"Hey! If you can see my current status then can you also accelerate my evolution?" I ask her with a higher tone than usual and with my arms folded. If she can do that then my level which haven't increased for months might finally see some improvements.
"There's no way I can do that. The True Mirror's not that incredible. Besides, I'm only the current holder. I don't even know how it got inside me. One day, I just woke up seeing a huge change in my Status Window. By the way, you're weird." Maine looks up to me with an uncertain expression.
I raise my fist before waving it right in front of her. "Wanna fight?"
"Stop threatening me! I-I'm not talking about you exactly but you're status. It's different from other people. It's like it's constantly changing. I can see a clear one with all your original stats but there's another one that's blurry. I can't really see the contents that much but your stats in there seems a lot stronger compared to what you have in the clearer one," She explains with a dissatisfied expression before squirming side to side. "Anyway, can you release me already? I'm not going to run ya know?"
"Tsk!" I click my tongue before waving hand.
The mana rope tying down Maine's body comes off and she falls to the floor while facing the ceiling. She doesn't get up quickly though. Her body's now totally relaxed. T-this girl... She must be confident that I won't be killing here after she spoke the truth.
But two status windows, huh? This is surely suspicious. If I have to guess, then it's probably not mine. The owner should be that-
"What's up with that? Is that a perk of having the Demon King Crown's jewels?" Maine asks me while carefully raising herself from the ground. It seems she is still holding some caution towards me as she's keeping some distance between us.
"Let's not talk about this for now," I cut her off while waving my hand. "For now, I won't be removing the bombs I placed inside your body. You must not speak of what happened here to anyone or else..."
"Sure." Maine nods as she receives my words.
Well, now that's finished, I guess I'll open back shop once again. I cut off the energy I placed on the barrier and it disappears without any delay. Following that, the sound of something exploding suddenly pierces through the silence that once permeated the place. The objects in my shop are shaking wildly as if an earthquake had just hit us. It came from the distance.
Maine whose nerves are already high-strung flinches and her eyes quickly widens. "What was that?"
Without any word out of my mouth, I ignore her as my pair of legs moves. Not long after I'm already outside where people are panicking and guards are scrambling to head towards the south where the sound of explosion came from. Maine also arrives right next to me. Suddenly, she turns her head turns slightly sideways and begins running towards that direction.
