To accomplish a plan, a person must be able to be aware of their goals and properly execute the needed actions. Thus, I shouldn't panic in this situation if I want to succeed. However, it's quite hard to concentrate when your being surrounded by multiple enemies from the ground and above.
From the group of ants covered in bulky shells comes flying a rain of acidic spits. I flap my wings to soar so that I can dodge them so I'm temporarily safe. The rain of spits then lands on the ground and rapidly begins corroding the hard stones scattered around. However, the barrage of attacks does not stop here.
Above me, the Fly Ants is now being forcefully controlled by their queen, enabling them to fight once again. While shrieking some incomprehensible words, these Fly Ants begin releasing a thick loud of psyche energy.
I raise my hand which is holding the energy gun to fire a bullet of psyche energy towards the cloud. The area where the bullet passed through are dispersing and finally, the bullet hits a Fly Ant. The Fly Ant convulses for a bit before it starts falling to the ground lifeless.
The cloud is still quite even with my previous attack. It begins coalescing into colorless droplets in the air. These droplets then transform into a rain that is shooting water everywhere.
"Tsk!" I click my tongue while firing constructing a barrier of mana around me.
The hardened mana makes contact with the droplets and the parts which are hit disperses into mist that quickly disappears. Meanwhile, more acidic spits come flying my way and then continously hit the mana barrier.
T-this is bad! Forget about hitting back, I can't even defend properly. There's no way I can focus on attacking and defending at the same time. I need the Energy Barrier if I want to do that.
I move my eyes towards the spot where Eliot is lying before I start running towards him. When I arrived, I quickly grab his left hand to remove the bracelet. Meanwhile, attacks still kept on raining on the barrier. Right now, cracks are present all over my barrier and it's about to break.
Just before the barrier is about to shatter, I quickly don the bracelet on my wrist. My mana moves on its own and travels to the bracelet. I move it properly to make a shield that can cover my whole body from head to foot before I return back to rummaging around Eliot's belongings.
My hand manages to grab a bag on his pocket where I can feel the existence of marble-like objects. The Electric Pulse Bombs!
I can't help myself from grinning despite the circumstances but it quickly disappears as Fortista's scream resounds throughout the place. I turn my head and there in the ground, I can see it lying on its back, unable to move properly because of its huge shell. T-this guy!
"Stop attacking directly and focud on dodging their attacks. I have a plan!" Through telepathy, I begin speaking to it.
Fortista doesn't reply and instead disappears from the spot where it was lying just a few seconds ago. It reappears right next to a Fly Ant and then fires a ball of lightning. That ant is sent tumbling a few meters forwards. After that, Fortista then disappears once again. It continues doing its previous hit and run tactic.
It might seem like Fortista is taking this easy but each time it reappears, I can see through his mana bar that his reserves of mana is steadily going down. After all, the Shadow Shift skill he got through my Ancestor skill takes a lot of mana from the user.
I have to hurry up or the beetle can't hold on for much longer! Thankfully, I finally have the Electric Pulses Bomb. Eliot, that scrooge, had actually been saving up a lot of them. If he just took everything out from the beginning then I wouldn't have to worry so much right now.
