There it is in the distance. In this seemingly boundless world of boulders and moss, a lake that resembles a huge mirror can be seen. Like before, it radiates a tranquil atmosphere. Aqautic plants are growing from its shores.
Even while I'm this far, I can still spot the troops of the tailed creatures called Drowned Nymphs. They had sharp canines peeking out from the long slits on their faces that serve as their mouths. It must be some form of rule but they're all wielding spears while patrolling the vicinity of the lake.
I guess this far is enough. With a movement of my wings, I'm now descending to the ground. Three bat monsters also followed me while I'm doing so. In a short amount of time, I'm already standing upright on the ground.
"Summon Bats!" My human voice resounds in my head. Following that, two vortices appears on the air. Two dungeon bats emerges from them with obvious shock on their faces. Before they can react, I quickly summon red rings of energy.
Unable to react, the rings enters from their head and started tightening upon arriving at the bats' necks. After that, their bodies transforms rapidly until they finally became a meter tall bat with sharp claws and fangs.
At the first level, my Summon Bats skill can only summon five bats. For the next levels, I can imagine their possible effects but in pretty sure that's gonna happen far in the future. After all, unsummoning the bats means I have to start increasing their levels once again. Currently, the previous three bats that survived the battle with the golems are around level fifteen. The news ones however are merely at level ten. It's the result of continously hunting monsters.
Now that's finished, let's go and take care of business. I turned my gaze towards the lake and flapped my wings. As soon as I took flight, the other bats imitated my actions. Since we're already this close, it can't be helped that we would be noticed.
The Drowned Nymphs who are currently on patrol spots us. One of them is screaming, probably to call for reinforcements. A grin forms at my lips before I raised my right hand. Blue blobs of light gathers and forms into a bullet made of mana. Unlike before when I use this attack with my mouth, the mana leaves my body through my fingers before they gather at the center of my palm.
Without pause, the mana bullet takes off and starts heading to the the nearest one of the Drowned Nymphs. In a matter of a few secondss, the attack lands on her chest. Without protection, the mana bullet pierces through her skin and passed through her body. A health bar appears right next to her but it disappears as fast as it came.
My subordinates immediately lunged at the other Drowned Nymphs, each of them scrambling to be the first one to get the kill and become stronger. No longer than a few minutes, the others died as well.
Nevertheless, the signal was already sent. Droves of Drowned Nymphs starts appearing from the distance. Along with them is a particularly unique one. Unlike the normal Drowned Nymphs, she can be considered to be enchanting even if compared to normal humans. It's at the level where you would pause just to take a closer look at her. A name appears on her head. Ariella, the Drown Nymph Queen.
Before I can even make an attack, she already began to open her mouth. An airy voice can be heard while she's speaking. "I was wondering who came but it's actually from the stinky bats. Judging from the lively fluctuations of energy around you, you just had your evolution yet you actually dare to come here. How courageous!"
In the middle of her speech, I'm beginning to feel a warm feeling in my chest. Could it be...
Just as expected, a red crown symbol suddenly emerges from my chest. It hovers around the air and starts emitting a red light that scans the beautiful Drowned Nymph. The target on the other hand seemed to be planning on speaking more but the sudden appearance of the crown symbol stops her.
However, to come out right now when it hadn't shown itself for more than a month, it's quite suspicious. Is there something special with this Drowned Nymph?
[Acquired Charm Level 1]
As expected, a new skill came out.
"T-the seal of royalty...Kyaah! I must have it! I must have it!" Originally, in her eyes was a blank look but after she started screaming, a gleaming light replaced it.
This is good. While she's distracted, I should make my move and quick!
I quickly start creating a bullet of mana. This time, I packed quite the power into it. Right after that, I sent it fast as I could.
When Ariella noticed the bullet, it was only a few inches away from her. Panic paints her face as she tries to dodge. Nevertheless, the attack still landed on her. However, it pierces her shoulder rather than my target which was her chest.
"You dare hurt the Queen!" The lackeys loses their temper and starts heading towards me with their spears.
This scene suddenly reminds me of the usual hotblooded subordinates in a novel with a fantasy setting. Naturally, the transformed bats together with me intercepts them.
I turn my gaze back to Ariella, the Drowned Nymphs' queen who is now glaring daggers at me. Strangely though, I find her more and more attractive the longer she stares at me like that. It's like, the surroundings are fading and my entire focus is on her.
T-this is bad! She's using her Charm Skill. I can't move!
[AUTHOR'S NOTE]
I'm typing this while the neighborhood is going crazy for the new year. There's supposed to be a ban on firecrackers this year but it seems that law was ignored but I guess it's more alive than last year since almost everyone was basically asleep when the start of the new year came.
Happy reading guys!
