Horror paints the hideous face of the drowned nymphs' leader white. Her fingers are slowly losing their grip over the spear and she herself is slowly backing away almost every few seconds.

"I-impossible! How could the seal of royalty be with a dungeon bat?" Her voice is shaky and low, even almost a whisper but I am able to pick up what she is saying with my heightened senses as a bat.

She really knows this symbol that came out of my grandpa's pendant. But that's not the issue right now. Just like the other time, the crown symbol is now emitting a red scanner-like light. The light wave makes its way to the drowned nymphs and covers their body from head to toe.

T-this is it! Am I going to get another skill? I just hope it's something that can help me leave this place.

[Mana Affinity Level 1 Acquired!]

Right after that message, a small whirlpool of blue light emerges from my chest. The red symbol then disappears back from where it came. What's this light? It seems like it's taking in energy from outside. I-is it recharging itself?

Mana Affinity? What do I do with this? I don't care about that energy thingy that the drowned nymphs uses. I need something that can help me keep myself alive. Like a movement skill for escaping and not this.

"R-retreat!" The drowned nymphs' leader screams out, horror still evident in her voice.

Eh? I can't believe she's ordering them to retreat at this moment. Even her subordinates are giving her confused looks.

"What are you doing? Retreat and call the leader!" She screams at the others once again. This time, they started moving away to follow her orders.

Huh? So this one is actually just another lackey? If she's already this strong despite just being a lackey troop leader, how fearsome is the true leader then? Whatever the answer, I have to leave now or I won't be able to later.

No elevation nor preparation. My wings starts to defy how normal bats fly as it starts flapping. The flapping motion kicks up a small cloud of dust. Some of the particles enters my eyes and I can feel myself tearing up from the irritation. Then like a bird, my body shoots through the air.

"Don't let it escape!" That annoying voice reaches my ears once again.

Change directions! My wings turns at a sixty degrees angle and then returns back to its horizontal position. Currently, the direction of my flight is now different. Based on that lackey leader's words, I can somehow guess what's about to come.

A ray of blue light appears and pierces through the air where I was flying just a few seconds ago. Thanfkully, my guess was right. I'll probably die the next time I get shot.

I continue to make changes in my flight direction. A couple of blue rays of light appears to take me down every few seconds but their aim is getting worse and worse as I got farther way from them.

"Fools! Fools!" A shrill voice sounds out. Following the voice is the sound of the air rushing from all directions. It kind of like a sonic boom but just a dozen times weaker.

The scream was filled with frustration and anger. It also sounded different from the lackey troop leader as this person sounded much more attractive. T-that must be their true leader, right?

I turn my head back towards them. The lake of the drowned nymphs is getting farther and farther away. More troops of drowned nymphs are emerging from the lake but I can say that their speed on land is too slow.

A sigh of relief involuntarily escapes out of my mouth. I narrow my eyes as I gaze at the lake, my heart burning for some reason. It probably lasted for only a few seconds or a minute and after that, I turned my head away.

A large plain lies right head of me. Enormous mushrooms grew all over the place and it was only thanks to them that I am able to see where I am to right now. Right now, I don't know where I am headed nor what my purpose is. All I know is that my instincts are telling me to go forward.

It's dangerous to stay on the air for too long. I don't know if there are any aviary type creatures at this place but considering how high and wide this place is, there should be some of them here. I need to find some place to make a shelter.

Right a few hundred meters away from me is a valley that was littered with gigantic boulders and mushrooms. My wings once again changes angle to take me over to that place.

The valley is long and deep. It stretched to who knows where. I can't really see any creatures around this place. Maybe they're at the deeper areas. Anyway, I think I already found the right place to settle down.

Located at a shadowy area is a small space. Boulders of different sizes shielded the area from the light and if it wasn't because of the fact that I can fly, I wouldn't be able to find it.

My body takes a dive into that place. It was empty of anything except for a few patches of Glowing Malevolence Moss that stubbornly tried to grow at the gaps of the rocks.

This place...should be good enough. I let out a sigh and following that, a rush of fatigue slowly starts spreading through my body. However, I don't actually feel sleepy.

My body falls to the ground with a small thud, making me change my sight to the dark ceiling of this underworld. Somehow, I feel really empty.
