Y/N POV:

That day, we prepared to send Norbert away, me, Harry and Hermione went down to Hagrid's hut to tell him about the plan.

Hagrid didn't let us in, instead he spoke to us through an open window.

"I won' le' you in," he huffed, "Norbert's at a tricky stage, nothin' I can' handle."

When we told about our plan and Charlie's letter his eyes became glazed with tears, although that might've been because Norbert had thought Hagrid's leg looked like a nice object to chew.

"Aargh! It's alrigh', he only got my boot, jus' playin', he's only a baby after all."

Watching this, I began to feel sorry for Hagrid, but I knew this was the right thing to do.

That night the three of us went back down to Hagrid's quite late to collect Norbert. Ron insisted in joining us but Harry said that he was in no fit state to accompany us.

When we arrived Hagrid had Norbert tucked away in a large crate, ready to be moved.

"He's go' lots o' rats an' some brandy fer the journey," Hagrid mumbled, his voice full of emotion, "an' I've packed 'is teddy bear in case he gets lonely."

From inside the crate scratching and ripping noises could be heard, followed by Hagrid being hit by the decapitated teddy.

"Bye bye Norbert!" Hagrid sobbed, as the three of us covered the crate with the invisibility cloak before stepping underneath ourselves. "Mummy will never forget you!"

Harry and Hermione struggled to carry the crate as I made sure the cloak covered all of us.

"Pass it here, I'll carry the crate, you two keep us covered." I said, reaching out to grab the crate handle.

Eventually we made it up to the castle. Midnight ticked nearer as I heaved Norbert up the marble staircase in the entrance hall and through the dark corridors. Up another staircase, then another, even one of Harry's shortcuts didn't make the work for me much easier.

"Nearly there." Harry panted as we arrived at the corridor beneath the tallest tower.

"I don't know why your out of breath, your not the one carrying a live dragon in a crate." I groaned, wiping sweat from my forehead. Then a sudden movement ahead of us made me almost drop the crate. Forgetting the fact that we were already invisible we hid in the shadows, with Hermione gripped onto my side we stared at the silhouettes of two people, ten feet away.

Professor McGonagall, in her tartan bathrobe and hair net was dragging Malfoy by the ear.

"Detention!" She shouted. "And twenty points from Slytherin! Wondering around in the middle of the night, how dare you!"

"You don't understand Professor. It's Y/N L/N, he's coming this way, he's got a Dragon with him!" Malfoy said, trying to defend himself.

"What utter rubbish! How dare you tell such lies! Come on! I'm shall speak to Professor Snape about you, Malfoy!"

We reached the top of the staircase and started joking about Malfoy's detention.

"Malfoy's got detention! I could sing!" I cheered.

"Please don't, I imagine it's torture." Harry begged as I gave him an offended look.

"Shut up Harry, I'm sure your voice is amazing Y/N, but now may not be the time. Malfoy deserved it anyway, trying to get us in trouble." Hermione said with a scoff.

Chuckling about Malfoy, we then waited, Norbert thrashing about in his crate. About ten minutes later, four broomsticks came floating down out of the darkness.
