3RD PERSON POV:

Just as Harry was about to walk through the black flame Y/N grabbed Harry by the back of his shirt and held him in place.

"If it's not Snape in that room Harry, you owe me, big time." He said with a serious face.

He looked Harry in the eye, before walking through the black flame himself.

But what Harry wasn't expecting, was to emerge from the flames to see Professor Quirrel standing in the middle of the room with his back towards them.

"You!" Harry gasped.

"Me." He said calmly, turning to face them, "I wondered whether I'd be meeting you here, Potter, I was definitely expecting you L/N."

"I knew it, I knew it was you in that Forest with the Unicorn." Y/N said, clenching him fists.

"I suspected as much. I happened to take note of you keeping your eye on me throughout the remainder of the school year."

"But I thought," Harry pondered, "Snape?"

"Severus?" Quirrel laughed, and it wasn't his usual quivering state either, but cold and sharp. "Yes, Severus does seem the type, doesn't he? So useful to have his swooping around like an overgrown bat, flicking his cape at every given moment. Next to him, who would suspect p-p-poor s-st-stuttering P-Professor Quirrel?"

Harry couldn't understand. It didn't make sense, this couldn't be true.

"But Snape tried to kill Y/N!"

"Harry, I've told you before, it wasn't Snape that tried to kill me, he was protecting me."

"It pains me to say this but, you are correct L/N." Quirrel said, looking towards Y/N, then back at Harry.

"You see, it was me who tried to kill him. Your friend Miss Granger caused Snape to knock me over when she set fire to his robes during the match. She broke my eye contact with him. Another few seconds and I'd have got him off that broom and then you would have been next Potter. I'd have managed it before then if Snape hadn't been muttering a counter curse, trying to save him."

"Snape was trying to save Y/N?!" Harry gasped.

"Of course," said Quirrel, "although, I wasn't trying to kill L/N, merely test him. You on the other hand, I would have killed. Why did you think Snape wanted to referee the next match? He was trying to make sure I didn't try it again. Funny, really...he needn't have bothered. I couldn't do anything with Dumbledore watching. All the other teachers thought Snape was trying to stop Gryffindor from winning, he did make himself unpopular...and what a waste of time, when after all that, I'm going to test L/N tonight, I'll be killing you though, Potter." Quirrel snapped his fingers. Ropes sprang out of thin air and wrapped themselves around Harry and Y/N.

"You're too nosy to live Potter, scurrying around school on Halloween like that, for all I knew you'd both seen coming to look at what was guarding the Stone, and you," he spat, turning to Y/N, "your destiny has only just begun."
