In the morning I wake up before Jai, I just watched him sleep for a little bit. I kiss him on the forehead, but he slowly opens his eyes.
"Sorry." I whisper. He pulls me in closer and hugs me.
"It's okay. I love waking up next to a beautiful girl." He says, which makes me smile.
"What did you want to tell me last night?" I ask and we both sit up.
"It doesn't matter." He says.
"No, it matters a lot. Tell me." I say and he takes a deep breath.
"I was going to.. say thank you for last night." He says, sounding unsure.
"Uhm. That's okay." I say and he smiles.

The next few days, Jai kind of avoided me. He wouldn't answer my messages and he 'wasn't home' ever.
On Wednesday, I walk to Jai's house only a couple of doors away. I ring the bell and wait, a few minutes later Alana answers the door.
"Hey Gemma!" She says.
"Hi Alana, is Jai home?" I ask and she nods. She leads me into the lounge room where Jai is playing his playstation 4.
"Jai." Alana says and he pauses the game and stands up to face us.
"Talk to your god damn girlfriend, do not touch that playstation until she leaves." She says and slams the door as she leaves the room. She sounded fed up with Jai and everything that's happening.
"Why have you been avoiding me?" I ask and he continues to play his game.
"Jai. I'm serious. Why haven't you been talking to me?"
"It's complicated."
"No, it's not Jai." I say and turn the tv off. I sit down next to him and he just stares at the ground.
"Tell me. What's wrong?" I ask.
"On my birthday-" He starts, but I cut him off.
"It's a lot more bigger than that." I say and he sighs.
"Just listen." He says and I shut my mouth.
"I was going to break up with you, but I didn't." He says.
"So what?"
"So, I feel guilty, I was planning on ending all this when you were organising something special." He says.
"Are you serious? You ignore me because you feel guilty? You are probably the most..." I start, but don't finish my sentence.
"The most what? Gemma. What?" He demands.
"Forget it." I say and begin to leave, but he grabs my wrist.
"Let go of me." I say and try to yank my hand back, but he is too strong for me.
"The most what?" He asks.
"Forget it." I whisper harshly and walk away. I'm so fed up with his crap.
For the next week nothing was said between us, it was like a break up, just worse. All I had in the world was Jai, he was the only thing I actually liked, not including my mum. All I ever wanted was happiness and I got it, but Jai and I have one fight and that all evaporates.
"You should talk things through with Jai. You need to take control, you need to find away to get through this. You guys are the cutest teenage couple I know, you need to get him back." My mum says at dinner.
"What's the point? It's not like he's going to listen to me." I say.
"Guess what mum?" Kayla says excitedly, but we ignore her. She's just trying to get attention.
"No, probably not, but what's the point in just dragging your feet on the floor. You could have a great future together. You need to fight for what you want in life Gemma."
"I'm not going to bother mum, all I'll do is make things worse. Anyway, it's over and that's what he wanted. I can't changed the way he thinks, he's like a f*cking rock." I say.
"Mum, I have a boyfriend." Kayla blurts.
"You're an idiot." I say and walk away from the table. I make my way up the stairs and find Jai sitting on the tree outside my bedroom window.
"What the hell are you doing here?" I ask and he jumps through my window and into my room.
"I'm here to take you on an adventure."
