Chapter 17 - Frustrated

"Holy crap." I say.

"What?" Trent asks.

"Meet your new cousin." Jai says as he points to me.

"Really?" Trent asks and I nod.

"Oh my god. That's awesome." He says and hugs me. I let out a nervous laugh and look at Jai. He shrugs. Trent lets go of me and he has a bright smile on his face. Well, my only cousin is a total douche. Great. Or maybe he is really nice, I wouldn't know.

"Aunty Anna said I'd be staying in your room on the floor." He says.

"Great." I say. At least I tried to sound happy about it.

"How long will you be staying?" I ask.

"6 months." He says, sounding happy about it. No. No. Nonononono. He'll be around 24/7. I'll have to sneak around to even see Jai without him being next to me.

"Awesome." I say, sarcastically. The rest of the day was spent speaking to Trent. That's was alright. His first impression wasn't great, but he seems really nice, excitable, but nice.

"Aunty Anna said to tell you that we need to be home by 6pm for dinner." Trent says.

"Just call her Anna, I've never had a cousin before and you're driving me bonkers." I say and Jai laughs.

"What?"

"Bonkers?" He questions.

"What do you rather me say drive me nuts?" I ask.

"Well, yeah." Jai says.

"Shut up." I say and look at the time on my phone. "We should go."

"Bye." Jai says to us and I kiss him before we leave. 5:59pm we get home, we have dinner and Trent doesn't shut up, typical for Trent.

"You and Jai are cute together, I mean even when you kiss." Trent says and mum chokes on her food.

"Trent, inappropriate." I say to him and he nods, slowly.

"That's understandable." He says and looks over to mum, who is still gasping for air despite the fowl coloured broccoli sitting on her plate.

"Are you okay Anna? I didn't mean to make you choke." He says, looking incredibly worried. I guess he just doesn't want to kill anyone.

"I'm fine." She coughs. Mum doesn't exactly realise how close Jai and I are, so when people talk about us, typically kissing, she freaks out. As Anna Lovett does.

"Mum, can I go now?" I ask and she nods. I wash off my plate and run up stairs. The mattress on my floor shows that it's true that Trent is staying in my room. A few minutes later Trent comes up.

"I'm so sorry." He says.

"It's fine." I grit my teeth. I want to yell at him for saying that in front of my mother, I want to... I don't know what I want to do other than yell at the frustrating boy. I just hate him so much.

"Do you want to watch a movie?" I ask.

"I'm just gunna go to sleep. I've had a long day, plus Sunday tomorrow, then school!" He says and jumps up and down. Oh lord, someone help me. He is asleep in about two seconds, so I read a book. A book that I have never seen until today, maybe it's Trent's, but I'd never expect him to sit down and quietly read a book. I am up to page 50 before he starts snoring.

"Are you serious?"

"I'm guessing he is." A 'Jai sounding voice' comes from the window, I hear a bump and a groan before Jai's head pops through the window. He walks over to my bed and sits next to me.

"You can't be here." I whisper.

"Yes, he can." Trent says and Jai looks at me.

"Sleep talking." I mouth.

"Let's go down stairs." Jai whispers softly in my ear. I feel his hot breath against my face before I nod and we move towards the door. We sneak downstairs and into the lounge room. We sit there for a few minutes and talk, before Jai starts snapping a pencil into a million pieces.

"Do you know what breaking things usually means?" I ask him and he stares down at the pencil.

"Nope."

"It means your sexually frustrated." I say and he continues to snap the pencil into more pieces.

"I'm not sexually frustrated, I'm just frustrated." He admits.

"About your sexuality?" I ask and he looks up to my eyes.

"No. They are making me go back to LA." He says and I frown.

"Why?" I move closer to him on the lounge as we begin to talk quieter.

"Recording thing. They didn't tell me much."

"You can't just do that in the Sydney recording studio?" I ask.

"No. The whole crew is over there. The Sydney Sony studio isn't open at the moment, the owner is making it more 'flashy' and paying a millions of dollars to renovate it." He says and I feel even more upset than I should.

"But you can come. We can do home school together and it's only for a month, plus you'll be away from Trent." He says.

"Last time we went to America together you hurt me." I say, the photo flashing through my memory made it hard.

"I'll never hurt you again." He says and kisses where the creases in my forehead have formed.

"Don't be upset." He says.

"I won't. I just don't want you to go." I say.

"I know, me neither. Maybe I just won't go." He says and stands up.

"No. Don't be stupid, go. Don't lose your whole career just because of your stupid worried girlfriend." I say and follow his movements by standing up.

"You're not stupid." He says and just stares at me.

"I won't lose my career. I've finished recording the album anyway, it's only a meeting about the industry and stuff that doesn't matter, that's the most they told me." He says and grabs my hands.

"Okay." I say and pull him into a hug.

"I hope you know you can go. It's not my choice." I say.

"Stupid meetings don't matter, you do."
