In the morning, I wake up to the sun taring through the blinds. I feel around in the bed next to me and Jai of course isn't there. I lay in bed for ten minutes, sucking up every last bit of sleep I can get before this big long day.

When I wake up the next time, Jai is sitting next to me, the smell of scrambled eggs fills the room and I spring up. Jai laughs and hands me a plate.

"Merry Christmas." He says and kisses my cheek.

"Merry Christmas." I say. We eat breakfast then return the dishes to the kitchen.

After that we decide to watch a few christmas movies.

"I can't believe it's been almost three years." Jai says.

"It's unbelievable, even though half of it was spent fighting." I say and we both laugh. The movie was boring so Jai and I bailed early.

"Lets go for a walk." He says and we decide to just walk along the busy road for a while.

"I'm so lucky to have you." I say and kiss his cheek.

"Yeah, I have something to tell you." Jai says as we stop in front of a quaint little coffee shop. We turn towards each other and Jai doesn't look into my eyes as I stare up at him, he glances down at me a couple of times and it's noticeable how hard this is to say.

"About America, my manager wants me to do it. I want to do it, but I rather spend more time with you, except I have to go." He says as he looks around, he finally looks down into my eyes and I pull him into an embrace, I kiss him, despite the fact that I was hurt. I don't want him to leave again.

"When do you leave?" I ask.

"A few days." He says.

"Okay." After that we walk back to the hotel and then decide to go home not long afterwards. The drive home was terrible, even though there was barely any traffic.

That afternoon I sit in my room with my face in my hands. I don't want him to leave, not at all. I want to spend time with him for once. I'm so sick of all of this touring. I dial his number on my phone and he picks up almost instantly.

"Hey." He says.

"I'm gunna miss you." I say, and a tear runs down my face. I wipe it away, and sniffle.

"I'll miss you too, but if I don't take this tour, there may not be anymore." He says, quietly. I hear people talking in the background, and someone crashing dishes together.

"Yeah, where are you?" I ask, he sighs.

"At my aunty and uncles place, my mum and I are staying for dinner. I was going to invite you, but I didn't think you'd want to come." He says, even quieter than before. "Look I have to go."

The phone shuts off, and I don't hear from Jai for the next few days. The day he's leaving comes around quickly and I call him, but no one picks up.

"Shit." I curse, and run down the stairs. I can't not say goodbye. I run to his house, and no one answers the door. I get my mum to race me to the airport, she waits outside as I run through the crowded airport. I see a glimpse of him at the start of the terminal, and quickly hurry over to him.

"Jai!" I call just before he steps through the metal detector thing.

"You really thought you'd leave the country without saying goodbye." I ask with a smile. I pull him in by his shirt and kiss him.

"I love you." He whispers, a voice over the speaker announces the last call for the flight to LA, "but I have to go."

He kisses me again, then walks away.
