"Good gracious!" I whispered to myself under my breath as I looked into the mirror at a whole new me.
The red dress laid beautifully on my skin, pronouncing all my heavy curves.
I rubbed my palm at my sides, down my hip bones, and that was when I realized that I had grown into a woman.
I turned around, resting my perfectly manicured hands on my waist.
I held up my hair in a neat bun, letting a few tendrils fall at my temples.
After several turning and examining myself,I finally agreed that I was ready.
Ready to mingle in the league of billionaires of New York city, ready to blend.
I was no longer worried about being around Naveed's colleagues with all their elegant ways. I'd fit in,I thought!
I put on the black Chanel heels Maya gave to me and I wore simple stud earrings.
Satisfied with the outcome of my appearance,I walked out of the room to go meet Naveed downstairs.
"Princess,Christ!" Naveed exclaimed. "It looks even better than it did when you tried it on at the store."
He walked closer and took my cheeks in his palms, locking his beautiful eyes with mine.
"My God,You are bloody beautiful." He leaned down to give me a brief kiss,I allowed him.
I remembered my perfectly done make up,my red matte lips took a whole lot of time, doing.
"My make up." I said, pushing his face off of mine.
"Hey,I own that make up,and that face too." He teased.
"Come on." Taking my hand,he walked us out of his apartment and towards his ever posh looking Audi.
We settled in the car and Passenger's 'let her go' boomed from the speakers, massaging our ears. I relaxed in the plush leather seat, and enjoyed the ride.
The party was at a U-shape building downtown.
The exquisiteness of the hall is what anyone could spend a lifetime explaining.
We walked down the courtyard and into a spacious lobby. A well-mannered young man approached as we walked in.
"Mr.Omar." He nodded at Naveed's direction. "Ma'am." And then at my direction.
"You are welcome."
"Stanton." Naveed said casually.
"Hello." I greeted, offering him a warm receptive smile.
Naveed angled his hand in a gentleman gesture, and I slipped my hand around his arm.
Stanton led us to our table, the setting had each table surrounded with six seats.
The room was sumptuous and adorned in a classy linen lights. Beneath the room was a shimmering chandelier, the table was all starched.
The clinging of crystal glasses, golden cutlery simmered around the room.
A classical and rare Combination of white and red rose bouquets were in full sight.
A warm and Sophisticated charm pervaded the room, and all so sudden,I felt relaxed.
After greeting other members of the table,Naveed pulled a chair and I sat, adjusting my hair. He sat next to me by my right and immediately turned his attention on his colleagues, talking business.
I smiled at the other lady at the table, and she smiled back.
All other three men, including Naveed were talking in their office register,They all seemed to be Naveed's business associates.
My attention immediately drifted to the other man sitting silently,He barely spoke, only just when necessary,he'd chip in a word or two,and held to himself in a proud manner.
My eyes darted in the direction of Naveed, and saw that he was still engaged in a discussion with his colleagues.
Ordinarily,I'd have been a little mad at how he ignored my presence, even though he tugged his hand on my lap occasionally.
But somehow,I was glad that he was still occupied, for a reason I was yet to figure out.
My attention reverted back at the mystery God sitting opposite me.
He was still not giving so much of himself into their discussion.
I noticed his not so welcoming response when we greeted him the second we got to the table.
I scanned his face thoroughly.
He didn't for a second look in my direction, matter fact,He didn't purposely look in any woman's direction, until then.
The beautiful women swooping around him didn't escape my notice.
He'd offer a short smile, only twitching the side of his lips, and the smiles stopped as quickly as they'd started.
Then he'd return his attention into nothingness, his beautiful, big blue eyes drilling away from the table.
He was being so blissfully unaware of all the attention he attracted.
His long dark blond hair rested gracefully at his back. He wore a three-piece white suit, with white shirt too and an off-white tie.
His brows furrowed a little, indicating a look of a dignified importance, and I thought that was his natural look.
I had never seen a man so handsome, and yet,so very arrogant even when he was silent.
A lady dressed in a black sheath dress came around from behind him and rested her chin near his ear, whispering something.
My stomach churned in a rumble when he craned his neck and said something to her,and I watched as he stood up with ease, and followed her.
My eyes followed his beautiful back and his long legs, his hand shoved ignorantly in his pocket and the other swaying on its own accord by his side, with his head held up in a dignified nonchalance.
My mouth fell open,my eyes widened as my jaw dropped when realization dawned on me.
I knew that man!
