Sunlight gnawed through the window and beckoned me awake.
I sat up,shoving off the covers to the other side of the bed and the figure laying next to me caught my attention.
Esteban was still deep asleep, amidst all the trouble time,he still looked his disarming self, too handsome for his own damn good.
One thing I'd learned about Him was,He could manage to mask his worry even in the hardest of times.
Three days ago when He told me everything about His condition,I had cried my eyes out and vowed to stay by him,and with Him.
He was a ticking bomb waiting to explode on last second, but I was willing to be there to witness the explosion.
Esteban's life wasn't perfect, but so also wasn't mine, and somehow,we managed to see the light in the middle of all the shambles, and the only way that could have happened was when we stayed together, that was exactly what we had decided to do.
After Esteban laid out his pitiful condition for me in Jake's apartment,My heart couldn't possibly harbor in all the hurt and pain alone,So I told everything to Jake and Maya.
He had a son,he was once married, and I didn't know how to feel all about that, but if he could accept me with all my imperfections, why couldn't I accept him with his?
And Of course,Esteban took me back to the mansion, not worker's quarters this time, the penthouse mansion, and I had a quality time accessing the grandeur building,Esteban made sure I got familiar every angle.
Esteban gave me a room, but that was just what it was,by name, technically; my room. Because Es didn't let me sleep alone,I was always in his room. My things were however, back in 'my room'.
Everything in the house was white,I couldn't for the life of me understand his obsession with the color,I found myself creating an upsurge of admiration for it also,I thought It had a restful and peaceful effect.
I talked about getting back to work at the Empire but Esteban wasn't having it,he talked about my health and the baby's. So I was left with no option but to stay in the mansion with Cathy mothering me around until Es and Si got back.
I reached for my hair and felt the usual knots Esteban left every night until he fell asleep. He had made it a habit to coil my hair and weave it into rubbish knots.
I smiled as I began untangling my hair when I heard a faint movement beside me.
"What are you thinking about,Muffin?" His deep voice never failed to have an effect on me. I looked over my shoulder to be faced with a sleepy Esteban, his long hair fanned across his face, closing half of it.
My eyes ran down his bare chest, his huge body never fail to appeal to me.
"You. I have missed you." I answered,playfully.
"In your sleep?" He asked.
"Yes." I answered, rolling my eyes at him.
He sat up on his elbows.
"Did you just roll your eyes at me?" He asked.
I readied myself for a sprint around the room,I knew it was coming.
"Yes,duh." I answered,rolling my eyes again.
"Some nerves you've got,Young lady." He said. "Come here."
And with that,I got up and sprinted out of the room and into the study,I just got inside the room when Esteban caught up with me,he held me around the waist and scooped me up. "Come here you."
