The drive was quiet, other than the radio playing softly in the background, which I was grateful for. I think Hoseok knew I needed to pull myself towards myself and prepare for the next few weeks.

The weather had cleared up nicely as we drove. It has been cloudy and windy when I woke up, but the sun had started to peak through the clouds as they dissipated. My dad had always joked when we were kids about the weather. He said if you don't like the weather in Korea, wait five minutes and it will change.

The camp was about half an hour from home, so I didn't have a lot of time to prepare before we pulled off the main road and onto a stone driveway. I looked out of the window and saw a sign that read "Private property: Republic of Korea training facility. Authorised personnel only"

My mouth went dry instantly and my hands started to get clammy. There was no way I could pull out now. It was too late.

As the car came to a stop outside the administration building, I looked over to Hoseok. My eyes were wide and I started to panic.

"Hey, relax. You can do this. I know you can. You are so much stronger than you think you are," he said as he cupped my face in his hands, "You are going to kick ass here sis, you are more badass than most of the men I know, you are going to make the Jung family name proud. I promise." He kissed my forehead and let go of my face.

I nodded and unbuckled my seatbelt. I put my hand on the door handle, took a deep breath and opened the door. I made my way to the back of the car, Hosoek opened the boot and handed me my bag. I threw my arms around him, almost pushing him to the ground.

"I'm going to miss your stupid face..." I mumbled as I buried my face into his neck.

"No you won't," he chuckled, "You're going to be too busy impressing everyone." he pushed me out of the hug and winked at me.

I chuckled and pulled my bag over my shoulder. I turned towards the door to the reception, and started walking, slowly. As I approached the door I placed my hand on it and glanced back at Hoseok, gave him a smile and pushed open the door.

The reception was pretty basic, a couch against the wall on the left with a small coffee table in front of it that had a few magazines spread out on top; more than likely years out of date.

There was a long wooden desk against the back wall, a petite Korean woman sitting behind it, typing away furiously on the computer in front of her.

She glanced up at me as I approached the desk. I placed my bag on the floor beside me once I reached it, leaning on the polished wood.

"Good morning miss, how can I help you?" she asked with a smile.

"Hi, I'm Jung Elizabeth, I'm one of the incoming privates for training." I had to consciously switch to Korean as I spoke, we spoke a lot of English at home since my dad passed, but my Korean was still fluent.

"Welcome Miss Jung and thank you for your service," she smiled again before turning her attention to her computer, "It says here that you will be in dorm 19 for the week. This will only be for this week, once you have been selected into a platoon, you will migrate to the dorm where that platoon is based."

I nodded in response with a weak smile.

"Here are your indemnity forms, as well as your itinerary for this week. The groups have been organised by surname so you will be with the soldiers ranging from H to J. Your group number is on the orientation sheet." she said almost as if it was a script, handing me a wooden clipboard with a heap of papers on top of it, "You can take a seat over there and fill out the necessary forms," she said gesturing towards the couch I saw when I came in.
