Jungkook stilled at my request. He pulled away from my neck so he could study my facial features. I smiled at him and it seemed to be enough reassurance for him, as he started to run his hand up my side, resting his long fingers on my ribcage.

I took a deep breath, trying to acclimate myself to his touch. His fingers used to make my skin feel like it was on fire, but now it made me nervous.

He returned his attention to my neck and reattached his lips to my skin. I felt him drag his tongue along my skin softly before he nibbled my skin gently, making me moan quietly.

He moved his hand slowly along the side of my body, caressing my skin with his fingertips as he moved. I closed my eyes and concentrated hard on whose hands were on my skin. I pictured Jungkook's face and I pushed my head further into the pillow beneath it. Picturing his face seemed to help, so I thought of something that may help even more,

"Jungkook," I moaned breathlessly. He hummed against my skin in response. I laced my fingers through his thick, black hair, gripping onto it tightly. Jungkook trailed his kisses up my neck, along my jaw and back to my mouth as his hand wandered to my exposed breast. He cupped it gently as he paid my lips small, butterfly kisses in an attempt to distract me from his touch. I thought I had made it through to the other side when Jungho's face invaded my mind like poison.

I gasped suddenly and retracted from Jungkook's touch as my body stiffened beneath him.

"Sh, hey, it's okay, I'll stop," he whispered as he retracted his hand from under my shirt and placed it gingerly on my hip.

"I'm so pathetic," I whispered as I covered my face with both of my hands.

"No, baby, please don't talk like that," Jungkook cooed as he rolled over and pulled me into his chest so I was his little spoon, "You're healing, you're not pathetic,"

I slowly started to relax as he held me close to him. The feeling of his chest rising and falling rhythmically against my back made me open my eyes and look at my surroundings, bringing me back to the moment, pulling me out of my own horrific thoughts. I was lying in Jungkook's arms, safe from everything and everyone.

My heart started to swell at the thought of the situation I was in. A gorgeous, funny, incredible, loyal man had his arms wrapped around me, and I wanted to be his. I needed to be his, but it was something I wasn't ready for.

I flipped over so I was facing Jungkook, his eyes fluttering open at my sudden movement.

"Jungkook," I said, seriousness laced in my voice. My change in tone made him furrow his eyebrows in concern, waiting for me to continue.

"I want to ask you something,"

"Anything," he replied.

"What made you stay?" I whispered, looking deep into his wide doe eyes.

"What do you mean?" he questioned, a frown forming on his face.

"Why did you stay around me? After everything that happened? And everything that you've been through because of me?"

His facial expression visibly softened at my words. He pulled me closer to him so my face was resting in the crook of his neck. I took a deep breath, breathing him in.

"Why would I go anywhere? My life would be so boring without you," he said. I could hear the smile in his voice. I giggled softly at his statement.

After that, no words need to be said. I was content and safe in his arms and I felt myself slowly drifting off to sleep to the sound of Jungkook's gentle, rhythmic heartbeats.
