Chapter 1- One Month Later

5th March 2011.

JongDae walked into SM building. He was extremely nervous. I wonder how she is doing. After all, it has been a whole month since I have last saw her. He thought to himself. He went up to the reception to fill out the forms. Yes, he is going to audition for SM Entertainment. It was his dream to become a singer and his teacher from high school have suggested him to audition for SM. While he was at the waiting area, he saw another boy around his age. He was shaking as well. Since he wants those around him to be happy, he decided to talk to the boy.

"Hello. I'm Kim JongDae. Nice to meet you." He said and offer a hand shake.

"Hi, I'm Byun BaekHyun" the guy replied, "you're auditioning as well?"

JongDae: yes. Don't be nervous! I'm sure you will get in.

BaekHyun: I'm sure you will as well. I saw you practise your vocal before. You're an amazing singer.

JongDae: so are you. Let's support each other no matter who gets in,

BaekHyun: ok. By the way, how old are you and where do you live?

JongDae: 19 and I live in Siheung, Gyeonggi-do. What about you?

BaekHyun: Bucheon, Gyeonggi-do. Hey! We're both from Gyeonggi-do and we're both the same age! Let's be friends

JongDae: ok

Then, an SM employee called their names out along with 3 other people. They were standing next to each other. JongDae was the 4th person in line while BaekHyun was 5th. As they listen to the other auditions, they were getting nervous. However, they keep on supporting each other. Just before JongDae started singing, there was a knock on the door.

Judge: come in

JongDae was shocked when he saw you opened the door. You were called by your manager to wait for him at the audition room before you go to your next schedule because your manager is one of the judges for the audition as there weren't enough staff around SM today to judge the auditions.

Manager: oh GaHeun-ah! Just sit here for a moment. I'll be with you after listening to these two auditions. These are the remaining two and then we will go to your next schedule.

You: Deh. Should I step out so both of them can concentrate?

You were concern for the auditioners. You know what it feels like to be in that position. As you look at the boys, you were shock to find that your husband was there. You have not talked to him before. You know where your other house is and you have his number. Your parents have given you all the details already.

Manager: oh no! Don't worry. If they enter the company, they need to feel comfortable to perform in front of their sunbae. Just play on your phone while you wait.

You bow to BaekHyun and JongDae while saying hello to them before you sat on the floor, on the side of them so they couldn't see you. They greeted you and bowed as well. As you got your phone out to send your friend Park ChanYeol a text message, you were surprised when you heard JongDae's outstanding voice. Wow! You thought to yourself. He's actually really good at singing. I really hope that he gets in. He can actually help the company out. As he finished, you continue sending the text message to ChanYeol. As you read ChanYeol's reply, you heard another voice, that was equally as good as JongDae. You also admire his voice. Wow! The judges will definitely have a tough time to choose which one to accept. You thought. There's a rule in the company: each audition can recruit a maximum of one person. It is very rare that they will recruit 2 people at once.

Judge: thank you for auditioning. You will know your results within 3-5 working days, thank you.

The auditioners bowed to the judges and you before they left. You also bowed back. As they walked out, you walked over to your manager.

You: oppa! Let's go!

Manager: not yet GaHeun! We still have to decide who to choose.

You: You mean between audition number 4 and 5?

Manager: yep.

Judge: GaHeun-ssi. What do you think?

You: can't we just recruit both?

Judge: you know the company's rule.

Manager: well, Byun BaekHyun's voice does seem stronger than Kim JongDae. Also, Byun BaekHyun was street cast by one of our SM staff. Why don't we just recruit Byun BaekHyun first and tell Kim JongDae to come for another audition?

Judge: sounds good.

Manager: come on GaHeun! Let's go or else you will be late to your next schedule!

You bowed to the judge as you left the audition room and followed your manager to the car. Your manager and members don't know that you and JongDae were married. Actually, no one knows beside your parents, his parents and Mr Park. Even your brother, Lee JinKi, doesn't know. You didn't want him to worry hence you didn't tell him about it. When you got into the car, you decided to Send JongDae a text message. This is the first text message you have sent him since you guys were married.

You: you did well today. Good luck with the results.
