Chapter 23 - Duet

You enter the meeting room at the company. You were told that there's a meeting which you will be involved in. You saw JongHyun, ChangMin Krystal, ZhouMi and the CEO sitting on the seats. You greeted them and took the seat next to JongHyun. After waiting for 3 minutes, you saw JongDae walking in. You were surprised. What is he doing here?

JongDae: sorry I'm late. Just got back from my schedule.

CEO: all good. GaHeun arrived 3 minutes ago. Anyway, I'm here to talk to you guys about a special project. It's called SM Ballad. We have selected you guys because you are the best vocals in your group. The title song will be called Breath. It is a duet. There will be 3 versions: Chinese, Japanese and Korean. ChangMin and Krystal will sing the Japanese version. JongHyun and GaHeun will sing the Korean version. Actually GaHeun, you'll double up and sing the chinese version with JongHyun. The sub title song is called Blind and ZhouMi will sing the chinese version. YeSung have already sang the Korean and Japanese version before he went for military services. The rest of the song is in Korean. Set Me Free ewll be sung by GaHeun, A Day Without You will be sung by JongDae and JongHyun, When I was...When U were...is sung by Krystal and JongDae. This album is set to be release in February. There won't be much promotion for it, maybe some signing events although GaHeun and JongHyun will need to perform at music programs. Are there any questions?

JongDae: yes saesanim, which one should I focus more? This one or EXO's new comeback?

CEO: focus on EXO'S comeback first. You can record your parts in January after your promotions. But practise your parts when you have time.

JongDae: yes saesanim.

CEO: I've already talked to your vocal teachers about this so all you have to do is to look for them and arrange a time to practise. They will have the sheets and everything. If there's no other question, you can go.

All of you bow to the CEO before walking out. JongHyun immediately put his arm around your shoulders.

JongHyun: ya! GaHeun! Looks like we're finally having a duet! I've waited this moment for ages.

You: Why?

JongHyun: I'm always jealous when you have a duet with JinKi hyung. Finally have a chance to sing with you now.

ChangMin: too bad I'm not having a duet with you GaHeun.

You: sorry. My Japanese isn't strong enough. you can tell since they barely give me any lines whenever we realise a Japanese single. Only one or two phrases and the hard screaming notes.

ChangMin: it's ok. Maybe next time during SM Town concert. You better promise.

You: ok. I promise...well...we did have a duet 2 years ago remember

ChangMin: true anyway I better go. See you guys later

JongHyun: same here. Need to find the rest of the SHINee members

ChangMin and JongDae walked off. That leaves you and JongDae behind. You don't know where Krystal went. After seeing no one's around, JongDae put his arm around your waist

JongDae: finally! We get to have a duet

You: oppa! We're still at the company

JongDae: there's no one around. What are you doing now?

You: I might look for HyoMin sunbaenim to get the music sheets and sample for the duet we're doing. What about you?

JongDae: I'm going to have a session with HyoMin sunbaenim now with KyungSoo and BaekHyun. Want to come?
