CHAPTER 30

DINNER

It's been months since my first and hopefully not the last encounter with the lady in delphinium. I was thankful that we found the horse used in abducting me and that's what we ride on coming back to Chimera.

Over the past months, I've been really doing good in my magic class. I can say that I can cast spells now. Those sleepless nights spent reading books about wizardry, spells and a lot more are undoubtedly worth it.

Joaquin would always knock on my door in the middle of the night and he forbearingly taught me everything that he knows.

He would constantly ask me out if he sees how stressed I am. I've incurred some bruises because of my pieces of training and he would treat my wounds and bruises carefully. Because of those, my feeling for him keeps on growing that it can't seem to stop.

I've grown close to my instructor too. I never thought that we could be close since I'm not feeling the vibe with him. I'd like to call it a miracle but It's not. Spending time with someone will foster a good relationship, besides he has a lot of wisdom and I've realized a lot from those.

"Are you ready?" I looked at my mom behind me. I stood up and went beside her. Ni hindi ko namalayan na naka lapit na pala siya sa akin.

"Quite," I answered shortly. My parents host a dinner for the head of each city. I'm excited because I know that the people who are invited to the dinner know about the Forsaken Epee.

We are waiting at the vestibule for the heads to arrive. Guards and helpers are lined up outside to welcome them.

Not long after, the Adley's came. I was again conscious of how Joaquin's mom looks at me so I decided to tear my gaze on her instead it went to her husband.

Fabian Adley looks like a nobleman. His wide shoulder, manly posture, and furrowed brows scream authority, on top of that, I can see a very gentle man. The way he guided and smiled at his wife got me. It's just a dreamy scene.

I heard Joaquin cleared his throat that drifted my attention from his father to him. I raised my right brow because of that. He pouted his lips that made him cute even more.

On the other hand, Harriet greeted me. She timidly said to me, "hi." I slightly waved my hand. I wasn't informed that she'll be with them.

My parents warmly welcomed the Adleys and I bowed. Not long after the Dalton's came. Seeing Tita Amanda excites me. Sinalubong ko siya at niyakap. "Oh, I missed you Aurora." I giggled because of what she said, I missed her too.

Lumapit naman kaagad sa akin si Anton at may binulong, para na naman siyang batang nagsusumbong. "Bakit narito 'yang si Harriet?" Ngali ngali ko siyang batukan pero pinigilan ko ang sarili ko.

We are in front of these nobilities, it wouldn't be a good sight if I would hit him on his nape.

"Just this time, will you please stop your issues," I told him while greeting my teeth and smiled at Tita Emiline for I caught her looking at me.

"See, she's glaring at me."

"Because you're provoking her," sagot ko nalang.

"I'm not even doing anything," he whispered but I ignored him.

Anton's family came next and so is Milan's. Charles Milan has an aristocratic look, though he has a big stomach that seems like his signature. I also learned that he has a child, Dorothy Milan. I would've mistaken her as a model, she has this sleek look.

I thought that it's just the head of the cities, I was shocked because Miss Laura and Melissa came last. Technically, she's the head of Chimera. Is Miss Laura one of the twelve who knows about the Forsaken Epee, there's no doubt if she is, but I didn't expect it.
