CHAPTER 3

THE MYSTERIOUS MAN 2

I am already in front of A-402. I slowly turn the knob but it is locked. What should I do? I turned it multiple times but I really can't open it. As I will try to open it again the door opened and exposed a girl. 

"What do you need?"/ "What are you doing in there?" Magkasabay naming tanong. 

"Well this is my room." Does that mean we're room mates?

"This is my room too." I said. Bumakas ang pagtataka sa kanyang mukha. Niluwagan niya ang pagkakabukas ng pinto. 

"Pasok ka, I didn't know they are still accepting new students." Pumasok naman na ako at tipid na lamang na ngumiti dahil hindi ko rin naman alam ang isasagot sakanya.

Mayroon lamang dalawang kama sa loob ng kwarto. Katamtaman lamang din ang laki nito. Hindi ito kasing elegante katulad ng kwarto kung nasaan ako kanina. Sa gilid ng bawat kama ay mayroong lamesa kung saan nakapatong ang mga lampara. Mayroon ding study table at vanity table. 

On the far right corner there is a long wooden shelves with small bottles filled with colorful liquid, maybe potions? I just noticed it now but the room is filled with black color. Dumako ang aking tingin saaking kakuwarto, she has a very pale complexion. She's wearing a black retro soft lace night dress, she's wearing a very dark eyeliner that emphasizes her almond eyes. She also has a very plump lips, along with it is a black lipstick. What's with black?

Napansin niya sigurong nakatitig ako sakanya kaya lumipat ang kanyang tingin saakin. "What?" She asked. Umiling lamang ako at inikot niya naman ang kanyang mga mata. 

"By the way, do you have some extra clothes?" I asked her. She looks at me like she can't believe I'm asking for an extra clothes. I mean I don't have anything with me, I don't have a choice.

"Where did you came from?" Nagulat naman ako sakanyang tanong. Tinignan ko siya sa nanlalaking mga mata. Does she know?

She goes to the wardrobe and opened it. "You have your own clothes." Tumambad naman sa akin ang napakagagandang mga damit. Lumapit ako doon at tinignan ang mga ito. I took the white french romantic night dress. 

"The school provides everything that we need, one of the reason why a lot of people wants to study here. This is also the best school for witchcraft." Pagpapatuloy niya. Tinignan ko naman siya at ngumiti lang siya nang tipid. Lumapit siya sakanyang kama at umupo.

"It seems like you don't know anything about the school, I can see through you." Dali-dali naman akong nag-isip ng dahilan.

"Ah-eh..." Wala akong mahanap na idadahilan. Sana pala tinanong ko kanina si Miss Minchin. "Saan ka ba galing?" Biglang tanong niya. Naalala ko naman ang sinabi sa akin kanina ng head.

FLASHBACK

Office of the Head Ministress.

I was about to go out but she stops me. "Don't tell anyone that you came from the mortal world. If they'll ask you where you came from just tell them from Tahara." 

Tahara? Nais ko pa sanang tanungin kung saan ang Tahara ngunit hindi na ako nag abala . Nilinon ko siya at tumango. Bago ko maisara ang pinto ay may sinabi pa siya. 

"It's for your own good." Kahit nagtataka ay sumunod na lamang ako. Mas marami siya nalalaman at siya lang din ang makakatulong sa akin.

"Ah, sa T-Tahara, ayun tama, sa Tahara ako galing." Tinitigan niya ako na parang sinusuri niya kung nagsasabi ba ako ng totoo. Nginitian ko naman siya.

"Really? You don't look like a Tahariya. I thought you came from Asilia, you look more like you're one of them." Asilia? What is that again?

"Asilia?" I asked. She pats the space beside her motioning me to sit and she starts to tell me everything that she knows about Asilia.   

I am already at my bed. Melissa is already sleeping, she's my roommate. I glance at the clock and it's already midnight but I can't still sleep. I'm still thinking about Asilia, something is bothering me.

Melissa told me that they are the most powerful town here in the other world. It is ruled by three powerful families. The thing that bothers me is about the third family. Ang sabi ni Melissa dalawang pamilya nalang ang natitira, bigla nalang daw nawala ang ikatlong pamilya simula noong isara ang portal at hindi na muling nagparamdam. The question that she left bugs my mind.

'Could it be that they decided to reside in the mortal world? Or, are they thrown into the mortal world and couldn't find their way to come back since all the means to open the portal had been destroyed?'

She also added that. 'The third family is the most powerful clan and there are a lot of things they are carrying on their shoulders. Rumors spread that one of the remaining families got rid of the third family in order to control Asilia.'

Morning came and I looked like a zombie. Melissa is staring at me.

"Did you sleep?" I just sigh and stand up. I didn't answer her and entered the bathroom to take a bath.

After I took a bath I wore the school uniform. The school uniform consists of white long-sleeved shirt with a black ribbon for the inside and a black skirt that comes with either a black buttoned jacket or a long black hooded tunic.

The school uniform together with a buttoned jacket is to be used from Mondays to Wednesdays. On the other hand the uniform with the long black hooded tunic with a body belt and a red sash on the waist is every Thursday and Fridays.

The uniform looks like the uniform used by Atsuko Kagari, the only difference is that it's in color black and partnered with lace-up ankle boots.

Magkasabay kami ni Melissa papasok. Since I'm still not familiar with the place and I don't know anyone here she's kind enough to accompany me. We're both in first year so there's no problem with it.

We are already in our first class. Melissa told me that first year students have six classes. These are Transfiguration, Charms, Potions, Herbology, Arithmancy, and Divination.

Our first class is Transfiguration. Our professor for this class already enters, she is Mrs.Sherlot. She's already old but she looks strict. She's like those old Filipino teachers.

She glanced at me but didn't ask any questions. It seems like she already knows what happened.

"In this class I will teach you how to change the form and appearance of an object or a person. It may sound easy but I am telling you do not take my subject for granted. Wrong use of spells might put you in danger." She started.

All of our attention is on her. Mrs.Sherlot is discussing some elements when suddenly the door opens and a man enters. I am just looking at him. He looks familiar. Suddenly the image of the man in the bus stop dawned at me.

It couldn't be. There's no way. What is he doing here? Is he also a wizard or the same thing happened to us?

Confusion filled my mind.
