FOUR CITIES
Hindi ako makatulog dahil iniisip ko parin ang tungkol sa sulat.
Should I tell my parents about it? I want to but, I don't want to add to their problems. They are already facing a lot.
Sana pala ay hindi nalang ako napunta rito. I wouldn't mind them not telling me who we really are as long as they wouldn't be faced with difficulties.
The moment I got here I was always faced with problems, never-ending problems.
Now I'm slowly understanding my parents' reason as to why they leave this world. Nakakatakot at nakakapagod.
Hindi ko namalayan na nakatulog na pala ako dahil sa malalim na pag iisip.
Morning came and I can say that I wasn't rested. Ang bigat ng pakiramdam ko. I feel like I will get sick because of everything that's happening.
I dressed up and went down the stairs. Mom and dad are waiting for me at the breakfast table.
"Good morning." I greeted them and they greeted me back also.
We were having a quiet breakfast when dad spoke.
"I will not be home for today, don't let your mom be alone. After your class, you can go home and your private lesson will be conducted here." I looked at mom and she just smiled at me. Ipinagpatuloy ko nalang ang pagkain ko.
"Where are you going, dad?" Pareho silang natigilan sa sagot ko.
"I need to talk to the Milans','' Milans? Nangunot ang noo ko. Dad seems to notice the crease on my forehead so he continues what he needs to the Milans.
"Patungkol sa pagbubukas ng mga daanan para mas mapadali ang pangangalakal." Mom stopped eating and puts down her uttensils as she looked at dad.
"I thought we agreed that the Tulle Road wouldn't be opened?" Dahan-Dahan kong isinubo ang aking pagkain. I can feel some tension in the air. They wouldn't fight, right? It's early in the morning. And, what's with the Tulle Road?
"I already talked to you about it, let's not argue this time. Besides Cornelius and Fabian agreed to my idea. They were both here yesterday. I will talk to the Milans and see what we could do." Mom accepted her defeat. Who's that Fabian though?
"I just hope you three are doing the right thing. By the way, did you already tell them about-" Before mom continued what she was about to say she stopped for a moment and simply looked at me- "the organization?" Seems like they wouldn't really want me to meddle with their business so I pretended that I'm not listening to their conversations.
"It's for the betterment of Asilia, and I haven't told them yet. It's not the right time. They didn't make a move yet except for the bombing, so there's really nothing to be worried about." On what dad said mom shrugged her shoulders and continued to eat her food. I can see that she wants to disagree with dad but she's controlling herself not to.
I don't believe my father that there shouldn't be anything to worry about. Just the fact that they bomb a part of our palace should be alarming already. I want to tell them about the letter too that I received from the organization but I'm afraid that they would be more cautious and not tell me what's happening. They might also be more austere towards me.
There's also a part of me that wants to know what the organization means by the 'secret' my parents are keeping from me.
"How's your visit to Dalton's Residence by the way?" Mom asked out of the blue. With her question, the things that are messing up my system vanished. My eyes shimmer with glee.
