OPENING OF THE TULLE ROAD

I got up and prepared early for the opening of the road today. We are supposed to attend as a family but I said that I have some important things to do.

Since I and Joaquin will see each other today, I decided to just meet my parents at the event. At first, they don't agree with it but later on, they let me.

Joaquin and I were supposed to meet at Chimera but I've been waiting for an hour and he's still not here. I'd like to say that I'm just early but it's not the case. We're supposed to meet by seven in the morning but it's already eight and the ceremony will start at ten.

"Asan na ba kasi 'yun?" Tanong ko sa sarili ko. I'm glancing from left to right just to check if he's coming but he's not. Pero wala parin, ni ang kanyang anino.

Okay, thirty minutes more and if he'll not show up I'll just go back to our house and attend the opening with my parents.

Nagpalakad lakad pa ako habang hinihintay siya ang kaso ay nakalipas na ang tatlumpong minuto ay wala parin siya.

Mabigat ang loob na sumakay ako sa karwahe pabalik sa aming palasyo. I felt upset and at the same time worried because he's not really that type of person to not show up. This is the first time that he did this and I just hope he has a good reason for not showing up.

Pagbalik ko sa amin ay nakasalubong ko ang aking mga magulang. I think they're on their way to Tulle Road, thankfully I got here at the right time.

"Oh, you're here sweetheart," my mom said, confusion and shock is evident on her face. "I thought we'll just see each other at the event." I got near her and hooked my arms on hers.

"I changed my mind," I answered shortly.

Dad interrupted us and said, "that's good, it's better if we go together as a family."

We used one of our cars on the way to the event. As we arrived I found out that the time for the opening was moved and we are the only one they are waiting for.

There's a platform and there are seats on it. We take our seats in the respective space assigned for us.

Nilibot ko ang aking paningin sa paligid. Maraming mga tao ang dumalo para sa pagbubukas ng daanan. Bakas sa mukha nila ang kasiyahan at pagkapanabik.

I guess it's not bad that they opened it again. The road that is once abandoned is lively again.

My eyes darted on the families who are here. Our gaze met and I rolled my eyes on him. Fortunately, the Adley's are seated afar from us, I am actually mad at Joaquin. He's already here and I was waiting for him for more than an hour. Paano nalang kung naghintay pa ako sa kanya ng mas matagal? Hindi na sana niya sinabi na magkita kami kung hindi rin naman pala siya darating.

Dad stood up and went to the center of the platform, while we were seated behind him. He started his speech.

"Good morning to everyone. I know you are all excited," he paused as he extended his arms and pointed at the people who attended the ceremony, "I know that there have been unfortunate things that have happened in the past and up to this day we are still grieving."

"This road witnessed it all so we decided to close it. Some of you may not like the idea of opening it again but it's for the betterment of Litasama. The road is here for a purpose and we need to utilize it. I know some of you or a lot of you are still in pain and so am I, so are the families ruling each city. We are all grieving and I know we will never forget that day no matter what happened. But I think it's time for us to move on." Dad stopped talking.
