THAT GIRL
That girl with long wavy hair is the worst among them. She has a small nose, round shaped eyes and a heart shaped lips. I nudge Melissa and whispers.
"Why are they glaring at me?" She looks at me questioningly.
"Is that her?" Asked by the girl with long and wavy hair. Tumango naman ang dalawa. Who is she pertaining to? Me? Sobrang naguguluhan ako. I don't remember anything bad that I did, for her to look at me like that.
Unti-unti siyang lumapit. It's like she's judging my whole existence just by merely looking at me. She stopped in front of me.
"There's even nothing special about you." Okay? So now what did I do wrong.
"Excuse me?" I asked her. She looked at me from head to toe and rolled her eyes. She left without a word and she even hit me in the shoulder. Sumunod naman sa kanya ang mga kasama niya.
"What was that?" Magkasabay namig tanong ni Melissa. She's weird.
"Do you know her?" I asked Melissa. She shakes her head.
"I should be the one asking you that." Napuno man ng pagtataka pero hindi ko na lamang binigyang pansin. Wala naman siyang ginawang masama.
We are already at our room. Natutulog na rin si Melissa. Hindi ako makatulog. I opened the window and the cold breeze fanned my face, there's a window sit so I plumped myself in there. I'm just staring at the night sky. Kailan kaya ako makakabalik? Sigurado ako nag aalala na ang mga magulang ko. I should talk to the headmistress tomorrow. She haven't updated me yet. Ni hindi ko pa nga siya nakikita ulit.
Napabuntong hininga ako ng biglang may bumato sa bintana. What the fuck? I'm on the third floor so how can a stone reach this high? I hurriedly looked down and saw a man looking up at me.
At first I couldn't pinpoint who he could be but as my eyes adjusted to the dark I recognized who he is. What is he doing? May sinasabi siya ngunit hindi ko marinig. I'm just squinting my eyes and mouthed what. Hindi masyadong klaro ang mukha niya pero nasisiguro ko na naiinis na siya.
What? Does he expect me to hear whatever he's saying. I couldn't believe he's that dumb. He motioned me to get down. Inikutan ko naman siya ng mga mata. I put on my cardigan and slowly opened the door, praying that Melissa won't wake up. If she ever found out that I sneaked out she will lecture me non stop.
Pagkalabas ko sa dorm ay may biglang humila sa akin. Napabuntong hininga nalang ako at nagpatinaod. Tumigil kami sa likod ng malaking puno.
"What do you need, Joaquin?At talagang sa ganitong oras mo pa naisipan na tawagin ako?" Ang sama ng tingin niya sa akin bigla. Napakasungit talaga ng taong 'to. Parang kahit anong oras at isang maling galaw mo lang ay sisinghalan ka na niya.
"I told you to meet me after class." Pagalit niyang turan. At siya pa talaga ang may ganang magalit.
"We don't have a class, remember?" Hindi parin nagbago ang ekspresyon ng kanyang mukha.
"Tss, stupid," He murmured but I heard it clearly. Ako pa talaga? Ngali-ngali ko siyang batukan ngunit pinigilan ko lamang ang aking sarili.
"By the way I saw you earlier." Nangunot na naman ang mga noo niya.
"Luminous Alley." Pagpapatuloy ko.
"Why didn't you call me then?" Ako naman ang nagunot ang noo.
"Why would I?" At mukhang may tinatakasan ka kanina dugtong ko pa sana pero hindi ko na sinabi. He looked like he's frustrated.
"Nevermind." Ang tipid talaga sumagot.
"What are you doing in the mortal world?" Pagbubukas niya ng bagong usapan.
