Breaking Rules [Karlnapity]

Time traveller Karl is nice
This takes place right after Technoblade, Dream and Philza destroy L'Manberg

Their desperate cries for each other still echoed in his mind.

Quackity screaming for Sapnap, "Hold me, Sapnap! I'm scared!"

"This is good for us, Quackity." Sapnap hugged his fiancé, holding him close. "It's okay, it's okay!"

"Sapnap, am I going to die?!"

Sapnap was unable to answer when there was another explosion, he pulled Quackity out of the way.

Karl cried out for them, trying his hardest to be at their sides. But with TNT landing everywhere, he found himself knocked off his feet.

Consciousness quickly left Karl and by the time he woke up again, he was laying in a bed, covered in bandages.

He scanned the room he was in, and he didn't quite recognize it. Surprisingly, he wasn't in much pain, so he stood up to try and figure out where he was.

He nearly bumped into Captain Puffy. "Ah!" He yelped.

"Oh, sorry." She quickly apologized, looking Karl over. He seemed okay, which was good.

"Is everyone okay, I don't remember much of what happened? Where are Sapnap and Quackity, are they okay?"

Puffy averted her gaze, "Maybe you'd want to sit down?"

"What, why? I'm not hurt or anything." Karl argued but didn't try and stop Puffy from leading him back to the bed and sitting with him.

"Karl, you see.." She started, trying to think of what to say, "They didn't quite make it."

Karl's confused expression didn't change one bit. "Heh... what?"

"The entire battle was too much, for all of us.
But... They couldn't escape a blast in time."

Karl went quiet, trying to process that. He furrowed his eyebrows as tears started to run down his cheeks.

"Do you need anything?" Puffy asked, "I can stay with you."

Karl shook his head, standing up, "No, no... I think.. I think I..." He stammered, "I think I need to be alone."

Puffy frowned, "I'm so sorry, Karl.. I'll always be here if you need anything." She said before leaving the room.

Karl paced in circles for a few minutes. He was still in shock. There's no way Sapnap and Quackity could be gone!

No, he needed to see for himself. He reached into his hoodie pockets, his pocket watch was still there. "Puffy wait!" He called out, racing out the door.

"I.. I need to see!" Karl told her.

She glanced at Karl, "Are you sure..?" She asked, and then led Karl outside when he nodded.

She led him to a clearing where others were gathered. A shriek echoed through the air and it took Karl a few seconds to realize that sound came out of him.

He took a step closer to the space where Sapnap and Quackity's bodies were laid out, but fell to his knees before he reached them.

Everyone else who was there gave Karl sympathetic glances. Puffy rushed over to help him up, and she helped him reach the two bodies.

He got a good look at Sapnap and Quackity. He quickly shook his head, letting out another scream of anguish.

Puffy sat with him, rubbing her hand along his back. She said something to him, but Karl had tuned her out a while ago.

He got a grip on his pocket watch, pulling it out and staring at the mini clock. He shook his head, "I can't let it end like this!"

"Karl, what are you saying?" She asked, concerned.

Karl wiped away his tears, starting to turn the watch's hands counter-clockwise. "I need to fix it!" He said.

Before Puffy could ask what he was talking about, Karl clicked a little button on the watch and in a flash of bright light, Karl was gone.

Karl found himself back in L'Manberg. He could hear Quackity crying for Sapnap and he wasted no time starting to run to where he saw them.

"Sap! Alex!" He cried out, "Get out of the way!"

He heard Sapnap say, "This is it for us, Quackity." And Karl shook his head. Not this time.

Picking up his running speed, just barely managed to push the two out of the way, letting them escape the blast that killed them before.

Sapnap's eyes widened, hearing Karl scream in pain. Noticing that Karl had gotten caught in the blast, he raced over, dragging Karl out of the way.

He and Quackity sat with Karl, "Are you okay?! Holy shit!" He rested a hand on Karl's shoulder, "Oh my god-" he panicked.

Having been caught in the blast, Karl had gotten some pretty awful burns on one half of his face.

Karl took a moment to calm down, trying not to hyperventilate. He glanced up, seeing both Sapnap and Quackity's worried gazes on him.

He smiled slightly, "I'm.. I'm okay..!" He nodded, "I'm glad I saved you guys..!"

Sapnap let out a shocked chuckle, hugging Karl tightly, "It's all okay now.. we'll get you fixed up. Then we'll do something when you're better."

Quackity joined in on the hug, agreeing quietly with Sapnap.

Karl closed his eyes, smiling, "Yeah..! Something fun..!"

He tried his best to forget that by changing the past, he's broken a very important rule.
