The sound of droplets hitting the windows filled the entire house. Two nannies had accompanied Rei, Touya, Fuyumi, and Natsuo to visit their grandparents. Leaving only the three nannies and Homusubi in this house. Considering that Enji was out for his work even with the storm.
The nannies were in their shared room upstairs, toasting wine to each other and sharing gossips.
The television in the living room continued to play, showing the news of the fire hero Endeavor defeated an enemy even with the heavy rain, though he suffered casualties and multiple minor wounds.
Homusubi quietly peeked through the small opening of the door, seeing how the nannies were so carefree whenever Enji of Rei isn't here. Yet she didn't tell anything about it to her parents, they raised her, they mean a lot to her. Just like a family.
She silently closed the door and makes her way back to the staircase, thinking about continuing to watch the tv. But she stopped as she encounters her father, walking up the stairs, taking heavy breaths and holding the side of his stomach. His eyes spelt out exhaustion.
'He's hurt!' Her eyes widen as she approaches him with a worried expression, "Dada!"
"Go back to your room." He patting her head while walking past.
She shakes his head and followed him immediately, "I-I'll call the nannies for help!"
He pulls her back lightly before she could dash off with her little legs, "This is just a scratch. Please. Go back to your room."
She decided she'll become a stubborn girl for now and leads him to his bedroom instead of following his words. He sighs in frustration as he enters through the door that his sweet little girl opened for him. He flops down on his bed, lay on his side, and try to to get some sleep through the discomfort he felt.
After a few minutes, he flinched when he feels tiny hands trying to pull him back. He turns a bit to see that it was none other than Homusubi. Who gave him an adorably-determined look.
"... What is it?" He asks while laying on his back.
"You're all covered in mud and icky. We should clean you up first before you go to sleep." She says in worry while holding up a bucket of warm water and a towel.
His daughter caught him off guard then he smiles softly, thanked her and reached out to grab the towel. He froze when he feels a bolt of pain ran through his body.
Homusubi felt sympathetic and decided to be the one to wipe him, he didn't object. After wiping his face carefully she sets down the towel on the bucket and noticed something, "You're cold."
He nods, "It's raining hard outside. There's a sudden storm for 2 days. Rei and others won't be coming back soon."
Homusubi sighs sadly, "I'll miss them, but... at least dada is here." She wears a small and adorable smile.
He closes his eyes with a quiet sigh, thinking about what his daughter said. Then the man starts to feel the room warming up, or maybe it's him. When he opens his eyes Homusubi was using her quirk on him, coating and drying up his body with her calm fire. He didn't faze, instead, he pondered.
"I've been wondering ever since I held you for the first time..." He spoke and Homusubi looks up at him, "...How am I not affected by your quirk?"
"Mmm. I don't know." She chirped with a shrug, then she wears a beaming smile, "Maybe it's because you're my dada! Or maybe because even before mom gave birth to me, I knew that you were someone I love. Maybe it's both." She giggled softly.
The sweet kid didn't know how those words affected her father, pushing him into a situation to try and hide his embarrassed blush.
After a while, he finally dared to speak to her, "Homusubi."
"Hm?"
"I'll... let you choose whoever you want to be in the future. You don't need to be a hero because I told you so..."
The little girl was silent for a few seconds, then she cancels her quirk, "Dada. No matter what everyone else thinks. I still need to be someone who can protect you and everyone! I'll be the greatest hero in the world and then you'll be proud of me... That's who I want to be."
He was speechless for a few moments and grew worried, "Musubi you should think for your self too, not just everyone else!"
"Dada, I'm okay with it. As long as everyone is saved and you're proud of me for being your daughter. I'm happy." She grins before climbing up to the edge of the bed and gave him an embrace.
He felt his heart melt as he embraced her back with one hand, 'You don't know how proud I am for you all these years Homusubi.'
Then she got back and makes her way to the door, "Have some rest, dada."
He calls out before she leaves, "Hey."
"What is it?"
"Goodnight."
She smiles softly, "Goodnight too."

Nabong_Choi: How can you create such soft and amazing book?
First of all I'd like to thank you. I appreciate every comment you made in the book and you make my day whenever you do comment. I admit that this is a soft book but it's not amazing compared to others, it still gets criticism but hey, that's what I'm looking for!
And thanks to everyone's support I'm improving day by day!
I just get along well with kids, and see their pure innocence as something precious in this word that doesn't last. As we grew up, the innocence we had in the first 7-10 years of our life disappears. And I like interesting and unique things. I guess that sums it up.
We've been through a lot of things in our lives. But we know we're stronger than this, we can be stronger than who we were yesterday! STAY STRONG!
Come on guys, don't be shy now! Ask more questions like what's tasty in Busan!
