Chapter 69

Alarm rings at 5am as it's Sargi time but Bani doesn't wake up. Veer wakes up and tries to wake her up but she is in deep sleep. Usha knocks door. Veer comes out and doesn't let her go inside as Bani is sleeping.

Usha- "I have to give Sargi to Bani, she must be awake."
Veer- "Yes she is awake but you can't go inside."
Usha- "Why?"
Veer- "I was helping her to wear saree, she will embarrassed to see you, she is shy, you can give me this Sargi."
Usha- "Fine."

She gives Sargi to him. Usha leaves. Veer comes in.

Veer(to sleeping Bani)- "I am saving her from everything and she is sleeping peacefully, I won't wake her up now, she will remain hungry whole day without having Sargi."

It's morning,
Bani wakes up.

Bani- "Veer, I am going to eat Sargi as it must be 5am."

Veer shows her clock.

Veer- "It's 8am."
Bani- "Didn't alarm ring?"
Veer- "It did but you were sleeping peacefully, I tried to wake you up but you didn't budge a little. Mom came to give you Sargi but I had to lie to her that you are getting ready, if she had come inside then she would have scolded you alot."
Bani- "I will eat Sargi now."
Veer- "I may die if you do this sin, Sargi time is finished, your fast will not complete if you eat now, where is your attitude that you will fast."

Bani is tensed.

Veer- "Eat this Sargi now."
Bani- "I won't eat sargi, I will fast without it."
Veer- "As you wish."

He leaves.

Bani- "It's all clock's fault, it didn't ring loud."

Bani comes down. Babbe calls her.

Babbe- "If u r fasting today?"
Bani- "Yes."
Babbe- "Now tell me why we do this fast and what's history behind it."
Bani- "Babbe, idk."
Babbe- "You are modern, you don't even know what Karwachauth means? For you it must taking your picture while fasting and putting it on facebook, Usha you didn't tell her anything."
Usha- "Babbe, I will teach her everything, if it was some other inlaws then they would have taunted her mother."

Babbe calls Nikki.

Babbe- "Nikki u tell me history about Karwachauth."
Nikki- "I don't know."
Babbe- "Usha, Bani is new and it's her first Karwachauth but it's not first karwachauth for Nikki, you didn't tell her anything."
Nikki- "My mother didn't' bother to tell me about it and Mom never told me about Karwachatuh."
Babbe- "Usha, it's not only mother's responsibility to daughters about Karwachauth but mother in law should also teach them, your elder daughter in law doesn't even know about it so why to blame Bani."
Usha(thinks)- "This Bani doesn't know anything and puts me in problem."
Usha- "Bani, Veer was telling that you were going to wear Saree today, why you are not wearing it?"

Bani is confused what she is saying. Veer comes there and listens this. He comes.

Veer- "Bani must be shying away, we both tried to make her wear saree but she couldn't, it's so difficult to tie saree."
Babbe- "No problem, Bani get ready nicely for evening."
Veer- "She is so excited for fast, she can fast for me every weekend."
Babbe- "She should as she got such nice husband."
Nikki(thinks)- "There is something fishy between them, I should find out if Bani is fasting or not.

Bani- "I am so hungry, I should have eaten Sargi."

She burps.

Veer- "You were saying such big lines but you ate food right? I won't tell anyone."

Nikki listens this.

Nikki- "I was sure Bani was not fasting."

She leaves.

Bani(to Veer)- "I didn't eat anything, I am having burps due to acidity, I don't want to put my mother down, I want to show world that my mother have given me good upbringing, I will follow all rituals of this house."
Veer- "Sorry."

He leaves.

Bani- "I miss u Maa."

Nikki(to Usha)- "Mom Bani did not keep fast."
Usha- "I knew it that she can't wake up early morning and can't do this fast but I am sad that Veer lied to me for her and saved her, it's true that son change after marriage, Nikki u tell this to Babbe as I m mother in law and would not look when complain about daughter in law, you go to her and tell this truth, once truth is known to Babbe then she will handle Bani nicely.
Nikki- "Mom when Babbe will know that Bani broke her fast and ate food then she will throw Bani out of house. Usha- "Anything can happen and smirk(thinking if she tell about Bani not fasting then Babbe will throw her and it's her wish)
Usha- "When Babbe gets angry then she can do anything."

Nikki- "Babbe, Bani broke her fast."
Babbe- "I don't believe this."
Nikki- "I have patience but Bani is more modern than me and doesn't believe in fasting and all."
Babbe- "If u have proof that Bani has broken her fast?"
Nikki- "I don't have proof."
Babbe- "I am not Usha that I will believe anything you say, if I get proof that Bani is not fasting then I will scold her, get lost from here."
Nikki- "When Bani is not happy with this marriage then why would she fast?"

Babbe is shocked.

Babbe- "What?"
