Chapter 120

Bani sees Babbe.

Veer- "Let me go to college. The pooja is over. I will not clean the temple. Babbe, please ask her to let me go."
Bani- "He is lying. Would I ask him to clean the temple?"

Veer goes.

Babbe- "Bani, why didn’t Leela ji come?"
Bani- "I don't know why. She didn’t even call me."
Babbe- "You should go see your mom."

Leela is crying. She recalls seeing that man. She drinks water.

Leela- "Why are you doing this with me God? When I was happily living my life with my family. When no news of him came in after that incident, I supported myself and Bani and now that man is in front of me. Back in my life. I don't know what to do?"

Bani comes.

Bani- "Where are you Maa?"

Leela- "Bani shouldn’t know about all this. She will be broken. Bani shouldn’t know that her dad is alive and kept himself away from us."

Bani comes in room.

Bani- "Maa, why didn’t you come to pooja? You could call me if you are not okay? Let me call doctor."
Leela- "I am fine. Give me lemonade. And don’t add sugar. I am on diet."
Bani- "Please care of yourself. You are both my mom and dad. Now go and rest I will give you lemonade."

Someone calls on Leela’s phone.

Daksh- "Anita mummy, I put snake in that basket."
Anita- "You are good for nothing."
Daksh- "At least I am better than your son Jay."
Anita- "You better not bring Jay in. And I have to do something against that mom and daughter. Now Veer is completely in Bani’s control."

Bani picks Leela’s phone.

Man(on call)- "I am from Chandigarh site? Can I talk to Leela ma’am."
Leela(on call)- "She is not well. She is resting."
Man(on call)- "It's important."
Bani(on call)- "No, she is resting."

She hangs up.

Her dad calls later. Bani picks.

Bani(on call)- "I told you Maa is not well. You better call Raman mamu. He will take the work call."
Her dad(in heart)- "My daughter? Bani. I know you will never forgive me but I had a reason to do this."

Bani gives Lemonade to Leela.

Bani- "Two people called. One from Chandigarh I asked him to call Raman mamu. Then someone called I thought it's the same person so I scolded at him but he hanged up. So many blank calls to you these days?"
Leela- "Shut up, I am your mom."
Bani- "Why didn’t you think about second marriage? You were alone all your life."
Leela- "Give me lemonade."
Bani- "I am always worried about you. Why didn’t you give it a thought?" Leela- "Shut up."
Bani- "It's better that you didn’t because I can't share my mom with anyone. Okay I am leaving now but promise me you will call me if you need anything."

Bani leaves. Leela sobs. Her phone rings.

Her husband(on call)- "How are you Leela?"
Leela- "I don't need your care. You didn't care if we are alive or not."
He(on call)- "I heard Bani today. She sounded so good. Can I meet her once?"
Leela(on call)- "You kept me from my rights. You wanna meet her? Stay away from me and my daughter."
He(on call)- "Please don't do this. I won't let her know that I am her dad. Can I talk to her? Is she around?" Leela(on call)- "I won't be talking to you if she was around."
He(on call)- "Please."

Leela hangs up.

Bani comes home. Veer is leaving.

Bani- "You are leaving on time? I am impressed."
Veer- "A wild cat came in my way. I have to wait a little."

A girl comes in.

Girl- "Veer?"

Veer hugs her.

Veer- "Maya. Bani, she is maya my childhood friend. And now we are in same class. And maya, she is my wife."

They recalls their school life.

Maya- "Let's go to college, Veer. It was nice to meet you Bani. Veer’s choice is really nice."
Veer- "Yeah from childhood."

Leela sees Bani’s childhood clothes and toys. She cries.

Leela- "You were so young when all this happened. Everything ended in a moment. And now how much he tries, he can never fill the gap. When you get to know the truth, what will you go through? This is all because of him. I will never forgive him."

She hears his voice.

He- "Where are you Leela?"
Leela- "This can’t happen?"

She sees him in hall.

Leela- "What are you doing here?"
He- "I got to know you are not well." Leela- "Stop this drama."
He- "I always cared for you."
Leela- "You are lying."
He- "Trust me."
Leela- "I don't even wanna see your face. Go from here before someone sees you."

She goes back in her room. He runs upstairs behind her and falls on the stairs. Leela runs to him. He faints.

Leela- "Please open your eyes."

She brings water and spinkles it on his face.

Bani comes towards the house and rings the doorbell. Leela is trying to get him up. Bani rings bell again and again.
