Danica's POV

I stand awkwardly next to George as Bailey steps up onto her stool. We watch as she closes her eyes, mumbling something behind her mask. She opens her eyes and then turns to Bokhee. "Ten blade," After an hour of surgery the heart monitor starts flatlining. "We're losing him," Bailey continues trying to save him but isn't successful. We stare at the monitor before looking back at Bailey who's looking at the clock.

"Time of death, 8:17,"

"Time of death, 8:17,"

Danica's POV

"Four surgeries, four fatalities and the day's barely started,"

"That's how it is around here George," I mumble. I'm not mad at him but I'm not exactly happy with him either. We talked about him leaving without saying goodbye and I forgave him but still, he's hardly talked to me for like days.

"Can I have a bite of that?" He asks Cristina.

"No, you're in my apartment. You don't get to be in my food," Cristina seethes, mouth full.

"Doctor Burke gave me a protein bar this morning," George mumbles looking for the protein bar.

"I pack his lunch for him. Did I mention?" Cristina quips. I sit down behind her and start tying my laces.

"I talked to the morgue guy this morning," Izzie starts.

"The one with the unibrow?" Meredith asks.

"No, the one with the, like, teeth thing. And he said that surgical fatalities come in threes and sevens. Says there'll be three more before midnight," Izzie explains.

"Well okay then since dead tooth morgue guy said so," Cristina says, sarcasm dripping in her statement.

"I never knew prophets work at the morgue," I joke along.

Cristina high fives me. "Nice one,"

"He's the morgue guy. He knows things about death," Izzie defends.

"You dropped this," Meredith tells George who completely ignores her. I signal her to pass it to me.

"George catch," I toss it to him.

"Thanks," He puts it in his locker and then walks away.

"He's still ignoring me," Meredith states the obvious.

"Ignore him back," Cristina instructs.

"Derek says I should apologize until he listens,"

"Don't listen to Derek. Don't get me wrong, great guy, bad advice when it comes to apologies," I explain. "Give him space, eventually he'll be okay enough to forgive you,"

"Or do that," Cristina adds.

"Come on," Bailey instructs as she walks into the room. We give her questionable looks.
