I run into the lockers and quickly change out of my clothes and into scrubs. I can't believe I slept in. I'm late! I run down to the E.R. to see if anyone needs my help but everyone seems to have everything covered. Maybe someone's post-ops need to be checked. I run into the elevator right after Cristina, another man in it as well. "Hey Cris,"
"Hey," Her voice sounds dull and lifeless.
"You good?"
"I don't wanna talk about it,"
"Do any of you know where the Chief is?" The man asks. I turn to look at him and he looks a little weird.
"Um, in his office maybe,"
"Yeah, I've been to his office before. I can't seem to remember how to get there," The man replies. "I keep going in circles,"
"Oh, it's in the um, the east wing. It's over by labs, across the catwalk," I direct effortlessly, my eyes more focused on Cristina's upset face than the man asking questions.
"That--"
"Cross through the patient floor on three, then follow the signs to the main lobby, then you should find it no problem," I explain again, hoping he takes the hint that I'm not paying attention.
"Thank you,"
"Mmhmm. Cris are you sure you're okay?" I ask, resting a hand on her shoulder. The elevator stops and the doors open, the man walking out.
"Have a nice day,"
"Yeah, you too," We respond. The elevator opens again. "I'm going to go check on Liylah but I'll catch up with you in a bit,"
"Is she okay?"
"Yeah. Just a follow up appointment,"

Danica POV
I sit beside Cristina on the gurney, today being a particularly slow day for me. I swing my legs aimlessly as my attention is drawn to Meredith walking into the hall. "Did you guys get that page? Lockdown?"
"Yeah, I mean, whatever. It means we can't leave. I never leave here anyways so what do I care?" Meredith and I chuckle at Cristina's nonchalant response. "You know what? It's probably just a drill. Or a psych patient got out or a baby went missing from the nursery. Or there's a--there's an ax murderer on the loose,"
"Ax murderer would be fun," Meredith adds.
"You're both sadistic," I snort as I tie my hair back into a ponytail.
"So, how did he react?" Cristina asks Meredith.
"How did who react? What are we talking about?" I ask confused.
"I'm pregnant," Meredith says after a moment of just smiling. My eyes widen and a smile takes over my lips. I immediately wrap my arms around her with a squeal.
