Descending upon the second book in the series, we are hit once again with a wave of awe at the marvellous story ahead of us.
In the first book we encounter Cassandra dying and rising as the Goddess she was always destined to be. Mistress of Darkness. Mother of Darkness. An immortal being whose veins flow with Stygian colored blood. And from there the second book originates and follows suit of Cassandra and Elijah de Ricci's journey.
Our protagonists meet again as one when Cassandra inherits her godly powers and resurrects Elijah after death has stolen the vampire out of his woman's reach, into purgatory a void of pain and darkness.
Having freed Elijah, a sacrifice that had to be made to keep the world from being drained of its light, from purgatory Cassandra may have dropped the domino that will eventually topple over the light and give way to the Armageddon.
With the darkness growing inside of her every second of the day, her pull to an implacable oblivion of darkness growing stronger Cassandra seems to be stretched in two directions one wanting to be good, good enough for Elijah and other where she knows she in the long run she will have to succumb to the dark abyss pestering inside her.
A new enemy has arisen who stands in the course of Cassandra and Elijah's journey on the path of being together for eternity.
Their souls are bound to each other, sealed together by the hands of fate and love. Will this binding prove to be a curse or a blessing in the peregrination that lies ahead for them?
