REVIEW -

For about a year and a half, Jane Puller, our female protagonist, had dedicated her life completely to University and teaching rounds in Siam Reap, Cambodia at Life Start. Life Start, a place which strives to better the lives of poor and innocent children. They have a lot of facilities under their name - hospice, a hospital, a school where Jane taught, an orphanage, and much more.

Dr. Lebeau Marley's (Jane's best friend) father was also working in Cambodia working simultaneously at both the hospice and the hospital. Jane felt more freedom in the little broken-down bungalow of Life Start than she ever felt back at home in London. Once the overly crazed fan of Central Perks, Jane Puller had now got quite mature and modest in the amount of insanity she once used to show at the mere mention of the famous boy band.

Central Perks, a band of four boys thrown together by their Record Label, who had suddenly and very neatly won the world with their enticing voices. The band consisted of Blair Evans, Jonathan or Jonny Bloom, Nathan Kuszer and Jasper Collins. Jane still very much loved the band and their creations but a drunken stupor from a certain band member she adored or mayhap loved the most, about a year and a half ago broke her heart viciously.

Now there are certain visitors at Life Start with a motive for either self-promotion or having actual determination to help the innocent children, who knows. But now at their arrival all of Janes freedom is being smothered by the troublesome memories of her past.

Being one-fourth of the world famous and influential band Central Perks is fun and liberating in some ways but sometimes Johnny Bloom, our male protagonist, wishes he could take a step back and breathe without being printed on the cover of some magazine or tabloid. Arriving at Life Start, Johnny has to reminisce emotions that made his family pack up their life in Cambodia and move far away to the state of California in United States.

And to make matters worse he was receiving the cold shoulder from Jane, a girl who was obsessed with everything Central Perks the last time he met her. He was oblivious of his actions that might have ignited such response from her. When after pestering Jane a hundred times, begging to know what he has done Johnny received no answer from her, he was left to wallow in the pool of his ever blistering curiosity.

The author has managed to create a nice setting depicting one of the true horrors of the world with the glamour of the limelight and how it could bring on a positive light if those in limelight decide to make a change. The plot and theme are equally good if not better. Although I do feel like the author could have shown Johnny and Jane together more as a couple. The characters were well developed, although a bit more of common sense in the female lead would have done wonders in the book. The writing however was flawless and quite enthralling.

Read this book to see what happens when two equally obstinate people are put together in the course of life to fall in love.
