Melting The Ice is a phenomenally cute story . Our female protagonist is a 22 year old figure skater Analeigh Kerrigan , who is determined to make through life by dodging all the lemons it throws her way . What I really liked in this story was that Analeigh wasnt just the typical female lead who is obsessed with the male protagonist or whines about every thing wrong in her life . She understands them and tries to overcome her problems or find a way around it . Even though her financial condition isnt what one would call the best , she tries to keep it up . But it doesnt really helps when you have a mother who needs hospital care 24/7 .
Despite all that , she is determined to become the best figure skater and win the figure skating competition in a few months . She is driven towards her responsibilities and passion and strives to work as hard as she can .With the help of her coach , Sophie , who has been a silver medallist two times in The Olympic Games , she tries every day to perfect herself and give her mother and herself a bright and cosy future .
We meet our male protagonist , Zach Crawford , as well in the first chapter where he does comes off a bit rude but gradually it changes when Zach Crawford starts to come off as gentlemanly . He is pretty famous to be known as the best player on the American Ice Hockey Team . Analeigh seems to already know who Zach Crawford . Their first meeting occurs when Analeigh takes up the Ice hall longer than her and her coach rented for the practice sessions of her Figure Skating , which causes a delay in the practice of Zachs team .
As the story progresses , their affection for each other is implacable but Analeigh is not ready to jump headfirst in a relationship with Zach since she has her priorities sorted out and dont want to mess them up . With Zachs charm will she able to resist the pull or give in to the blooming love between them ?
