REVIEW –

Marian Lebeau, our female protagonist, was involved in a vicious accident when she was travelling down the forest Lane when a drunk driver swerved from the opposite side of the road, somehow hitting her head on. Both Marian and the drunk driver were airlifted to the St. Martins Hospital where Marley's father Dr. Lebeau worked, for extensive care and overall examination of injuries on the two of them.

Marleys airbags deployed two seconds earlier saving her body completely except for the brain trauma which caused her temporary blindness. Even after some considerations, it was undecided if the blindness was temporary for a period of four weeks or it will pursue to be permanent vision loss for the rest of her life. A bandage was wrapped around her eyes to make sure her eyes stayed close and Marley wasn't tempted to open them.

Marley was a student at University College London for architecture and a very skilled artist. The thought of not seeing for four weeks was depressing enough as it was but also the knowledge that she wouldn't be able to draw was adequate in bringing her mood down entirely. She is presented a choice by the doctor attending to her, Dr. Collin Samuels that she can either go home and rest or stay in the hospital under the ever vigilant eyes of the doctors and nurses and even her own father. Marian decides to stay in the hospital for she knows staying at home for four weeks recovering, will be too hard.

She is asked to move rooms and given a roommate to ensure her metal status remains healthy for she was suffering from physical, emotional or behavioural impairments.

And mayhap a roommate was all she needed.

Blair Evans, our male protagonist, nicknamed as Summers fell down at work and twisted his ankle, spraining it in the process. He is then forced to stay in the hospital for his ankle to heal nicely and without him damaging it further. He had previously been studying Marine Biology at University in Melbourne, Australia before moving to London for his quite challenging and demanding job.

Against Marley's constant badgering, Blair never sang claiming to be a horrible singer even though it was his bewitching voice that had lulled Marley back to sleep when a vicious nightmare had terrified her to her very soul. Blair found pure joy in being Marley's roommate in contrary to the annoyance that had coursed through when he was first informed of the changes.

At the mention of love/relationship, Blairs answer always remained constant that is - the inherent pressures of his job makes having a relationship too difficult. And maybe Marley might be beneficial in changing his view on the pressures of his job, and perhaps Blair will realise that the person that loves you will go to moon and back just to see you happy.

The plot and themes are admirable. The characters are built nicely and strategically. The female lead was quite level minded, that is, taking everything in consideration before making any sort of decision. The male lead is not the typical bad boy popstar that most Wattpad authors tend to go after, but was a genuinely nice, caring and logical boy. The setting of the story is done nicely as well.

Read this book if you want to see what sweet and genuine love is all about.
