All I feel hot and cold. More cold than anything. The warmth from Luz and the blanket kept me warm enough. The high pitched squeal of the tea kettle told me the tea was ready.
"How is she?" I heard Luz ask, to whom I could only assume was Willow.
Willow sighed. I could hear her plunge the rag into the bucket of water before placing it on my forehead. "Her fever hasn't gone down. Her wound is infected.." She muttered.
"She'll be fine though right?" Mumbled Gus.
"Oh yea. The horsetail is helping the wound and once the tea is done it'll help tremendously." Willow said cheerfully. "Speaking of which. I think the tea is done."
I could feel Luz gently stroking my arm to comfort me. "Hey. You'll feel better soon." She whispered to me. Her warmth and comforting touch made me feel a lot better.
I listened to the splashing sound of Willow pouring the tea. "Here. Make sure she drinks this." Willow muttered.
Luz's movement let me know she had taken the cup of tea. "Hey, Ammy. You need to sit up. This will help you feel better." She whispered to me. Carefully she helped me sit up and turned to face me. I could just barely make out her darker face and hazel eyes.
"Luz.. I'm so cold.." I whimpered softly.
Luz gently nodded, "I know. Here, drink this, it'll help.." She gingerly pressed the cup against my lips and turned it up. The warm liquid slipped down my throat. I gingerly tapped her leg, telling her I've had enough. She pulled the cup away and watched me carefully.
"It's best she gets some rest. Take her to your tent so she can sleep. I'll watch-" Willow started before Luz cut her off.
"Nah. I'll watch her." cooed Luz.
"But you don't know meds like I do." Willow argued.
"I'll call you if something happens." Luz reasoned. Before I knew what was happening, Luz hosted me up into the air and held me close. "Promise."
Hesitantly Willow spoke. "I- Ugh. Fine. If ANYTHING happens.. Call me." Willow demanded.
Luz let out a chuckle. "I will." Then we began walking. I could barely make out the dim light peeking through the leaves of the trees.
The light then disappeared as we entered the tent. Luz transferred me from her arms to the sleeping bag. I felt her cover me up with the blanket. Before I knew what hit me.. I began to fall asleep..
I woke to a light snore. Turning my head, I could see Luz napping.. I began to sit up when Luz woke up. We stared at each other for a hot second before I looked away. "So how are you feeling?"
"Better... My leg doesn't hurt as bad." I muttered. I flinched hearing the sound of an owl.
Luz looked to the tent and dashed out. The bird screeched louder than I've ever heard. Finally I mustered up the strength to climb out of the tent. I tried my best not to put pressure on my leg. I opened the flaps of the tent where light flooded in nearly blinding me. After a few seconds my vision cleared. Seeing Willow with her mouth covered in shock, Gus with a worried expression and Luz eyes wide as she read a letter and an owl sitting on her shoulder, had me worried.
Standing to my knees, my leg roared with pain, but I did my best to ignore it. Casually, I limped over, each step struggling to take another. My leg felt as if it was on fire. "W-what's going on." I asked through gritted teeth.
"Amity! Hey! Um." Luz shared a nervous glance with her fellow assassins. "Let's sit you down. Your leg must hurt."
I let her lead me to the log and sit me down. "Amity, this is Owlbert. He's out Head Assassins bird." I gave a polite nod to the bird. "We got a message.. From our Head assassin.."
