Luz's POV

I shivered at the cold weather. The weather was getting colder. Amity yawned, I wasn't surprised she was tired.. After I went to bed Amity stayed up practicing spells and talked to Boscha..

Speaking of the Raven Assassin. I could hear her and Willow behind the cart talking. Willow had decided not to drive today and had left it up to me. Gus took Amity's place in the back seat.

I looked at King and Illusion.. It was odd not seeing Seeker helping pull the carriage. But it made sense that Willow would want to ride her horse since she was driving.. It's just something I wasn't use too.

"Hey Luz." Muttered Amity.

I turned to the princess and raised an eyebrow. "Yes, princess?" I casually asked.

Amity's face turned a darker red and looked away. She took a deep breath and faced me again. "I need to ask you something."

My heart sped up, worry prickling my skin. "Oh. Um.. Go ahead." I said, trying to hide my nervousness.

Amity grabbed my hand. Even with the bags under her eyes, her beauty still stood out to me. "Luz.. You know I like you and I know you like me."

I nodded slowly, not really catching on. "Yeah? What about it?"

Amity squeezed my hand. "I want to be official.."

I froze, almost as if time slowed down. "Amity- I. I." My words were caught. I didn't know what to think. "Amity you're a princess!"

Amity narrowed her eyes. "So are you!"

I shook my head. "I'm an assassin now! You have to lead a kingdom once you can go back. You can't marry an assassin!" I protested. It's not that I didn't want to be with Amity.. I really did.. But it was impossible. I was always out on missions.

Amity hesitated. It was if she was considering it. She shook her head. "I want to even if I won't be queen."

I stared at her. The fact she would give up her dream just to be with me shocked me. Before I could respond Amity spoke. She lifted her sleeve showing off her glowing ruins before reached over and uncovering mine that were glowing. "We know that we're meant together... I don't care what dream I have to give up."

My heart warmed.. I opened my mouth to respond. "Well... If you're that willing, I-"

Pain was all I felt. Amity eyes grew wide. My shoulder was surging with pain. Amity grabbed the reins from my hand and pulled the horses to a stop.

"WHAT JUST HAPPENED!" Willow yelped. I could hear Seeker and Potion hooves stoping.

"LUZ THERES AN ARROW IN YOUR SHOULDER!" Boscha yelled.

Amity stood up. "Get her in the carriage!" Both Willow and Amity helped me climb down from the seats.

Gus was waiting with the carriage curtains open and gesturing us in.

A arrow flew past my face, making my life flash before my eyes. I climbed in the carriage and sat down. Amity at my side and Willow behind me examining the arrow.

I could hear a crossbow shoot. The arrow whistling. I could hear hooves hitting the ground. A loud yelp escaped someone. It definitely was Gus or Boscha, who were still outside.

"Okay. I'll have to pull the arrow out!" Willow stated.

"Won't that hurt!" Amity asked.

Willow gave her a stern look. "No, it'll feel like rainbows and butterflies... OF COURSE IT'LL HURT!" She snapped sternly.

I was prepared for the pain. Clenching my hands and jaw.

Willow grabbed the arrow and gave it a strong tug. I barely managed to hold in a yelp, but I was able to sallow it. Another tug caused me to let out a painful grunt. With a final tug, the arrow was dislodged.  A tear or two fell from my eyes. The pain was bearable but it still hurt.

"Okay take your cloak off!"

I hesitated for a second. If I took my cloak off...  She would see my ruins glowing through my shirt.. But before I could take it off Amity pulled it off.

Willow stared at my arms for a hot second before shaking her head and lifting the back of my shirt up to my neck. "Hold her shirt." Willow ordered.

Now that my stomach and back was exposed, I felt vulnerable... Hot and stick blood dripped down by back. I felt a hot stinging pain when Willow pressed a damp rag against my arrow wound. I groaned at the pain but Willow kept pressing herb juices into the wound and covered it with a bandage.

Letting go of my shirt, Amity hugged me tightly and dug her face into my neck. Her hot breath sent chills down my spine.

Boscha opened the curtain and stared at us. "Are you okay?" She asked quickly.

I nodded. "Yeah... My shoulder is hurting."

Boscha looked at me and Amity. "I need to talk to you two."

Willow growled. "Whatever you can tell them you can tell us!"

I looked at her, kinda surprised. "Willow are you-"

Anger flickered in Willow's eyes. "BECAUSE YOU HID THAT YOU'RE A PRINCESS!" She yelled.

Me, Amity and Boscha shared uneasy glances.

"I KNEW SOMETHING WAS UP! I just didn't know what! Before we went to the masquerade ball and I saw you two kissing, I saw some light. I shrugged it off. Just now I saw that same light... But this time I could see the faint outline of the ruins.. Amity told us only royalty had the ruins!" Willow hissed. She reached over and raised Amity's sleeves. The princess's ruins were glowing the light magenta they always glowed.

I hesitated. Amity stared at me eyes wide. "Is this why you two always were your cloaks!" Willow snapped.

I knew there was no getting out of this.. I shamelessly nodded and began to explain.

Willow stood there, listening. Gus was silent...

"So.. Technically... Yeah.. I'm a princess..." I muttered. I squeezed Amity's hand for comfort..

Willow nodded slowly. "Why wouldn't you tell me this..."

I shrugged. "I don't know... My gut just told me not too.."

Gus blinked at me. "I'm not happy you didn't tell us... but I'm glad you did..." he nodded.

I gave him a small smile before turning to Willow. The assassin's hand was clenched into a fist. I was honestly a little worried she was going to hit me..

"You had no reason to keep this from us... But I suppose I can see why you didn't... But that doesn't mean I will forgive you.." she growled..

I nodded understanding. Looking at Boscha and raised an eyebrow. "What did you need to tell us?"

Boscha met my gaze evenly.. "The people who shot you.... Were Raven Assassins..."
