Luz's POV

I watched out the window, the garden was packed with people of Cordova. My palms were getting sweaty. I froze feeling hands gently squeeze my shoulders.

"Luz. It'll be fine." Amity's voice wasn't mistakable.

"I know.. I'm just.. Seriously nervously.." I chuckled.

Amity wrapped her arms around my waist and nuzzled me close. I turned around best I could to hug her and let out a shaky sigh. "You'll be by my side right?"

Amity nodded. "Of course I will." She purred softly. She looked up at me a gave me a light peck on the lips. "I love you, so much, why would I leave you."

I smiled at her. "I love you too."

"Luz! Amity!" I looked up at the voice, Amyra was standing there on her crutches. "Come on. It's time. Luz your mom will be walking out with you and I'm going to be walking Amity out." Amyra said.

"Why couldn't Amity walk with me?" I asked.

"You two aren't married yet, so you can't exactly be standing right next to her." Amyra explained.

"Then why are you walking me?" Asked Amity.

Amyra shrugged. "Some having to do with me being the Captain's daughter."

"I can explain." Mom said. She walked up. "If the new king or queen has a lover who they are not married to yet, the Captain or the Captain's child will walk them out."

Amyra nodded and lumbered to Amity. "Ready to go?" She questioned, adjusting her arm so Amity could hook hers around it.

Amity chuckled and wrapped her arm around. "Aren't you a gentlema- gentlewoman?"

Amyra shrugged but had a dopey smile on her face.

Mom held her hand out and smiled. "You ready?"

I chuckled nervously and looked away. "No, but will I ever be?"

Amity shared a synthetic glance with me before turning aback to Amyra. "You nervous."

Amyra rubbed the back of her neck. "Was it that obvious?"

"Why? All you have to do is walk Amity out." I commented.

"Actually. Amyra plays a big role in the coronation. She doesn't just have to walk Amity out, but also make a speech, and once again as the Captain's daughter she shares a dance with the queen. Not the first dance. Just a dance." Mom nodded to Amyra.

"Pride of being the captain's daughter." Amyra chuckled. Now that it was pretty obvious she was nervous.

"You'll do great Amyra." I comforted.

"Well. We need to get going." Amity said. She nodded to Amyra and the two began to make their way to the balcony.

I glanced at my mom. "Hey.. Don't worry.. You'll do fine." She said.

"I hope so.. I don't want to disappoint Kage.." I muttered.

"Kage will be proud." Said a new voice. I looked over to see my dad, Harry, walking over. "Camilla, it's good to see you." He nodded.

Mom narrowed her eyes. "You're lucky Luz is queen, or you would've been kicked out by now." She growled.

I let out a quiet sigh and prepared myself for an argument.
