Audrey's POV

I yawned. Luz was still resting after her panic attack. Mother stayed near the door to Luz's room, worrying it was her fault Luz had the panic attack.

I sat beside Amyra in the tree. The weather was cold and snow fell from the sky.

"Hey your sister will be fine. My mom is one of the best doctors around!" Amyra smiled.

I returned her smile with a weak smile. "I know. It's just... I don't want to loose my sister after she just got here...." I muttered.

"You mean you don't want to... LUZ her." Amyra laughed. When she saw I didn't show any emotions to her lame pun, she looked away. "Yeah... It wasn't that funny anyway.."

I turned to her. "Hey.. Your pun was fine... I'm just not in the mood..." I comforted.. "there no reason to fear about your terrible humor.." I teased gently.

"My sense of humor is great thank you." Amyra said sternly.

The way she took this so seriously made me giggle. I looked back up at Amyra, her cheeks were a light pink. "Yra, you should go see your mom. I think you're coming down with a fever." I commented.

Amyra flinched and looked away. "Nah. I'm good. Hey you haven't called me Yra in a while.." she chuckled. Her face grew a tad bit of a darker red.

I reached over, placing my hand on her forehead. "Hmm. Are you sure you don't have a fever? You're really warm." I asked. "It is winter, sickness is a lot more common."

Amyra leaned back with a doopy laugh. She leaned back far enough to where she lost her balance and fell out of the tree.

"AMYRA!" I yelped.

"Amyra you have to be more careful. I can't be dealing with you spraining you're wrist." Elena scolded as she wrapped Amyra's wrist. "How did this happen anyways."

"The idiot fell out of the tree." I said.

Amyra shot me a glare. "You make it sound like I'm an idiot!" She argued.

"Because you are an idiot." I told her.

Mya opened the door. "What happened? The king told me Amyra came in with a hurt wrist."

Amyra dropped her gaze. I knew that Amyra hated disappointing her moms. Especially Mya...

Elena stood up. "It's just a sprained wrist. She fell out of a tree. It'll be fine in about 2-3 days."

"Amyra, seriously? You're about to start your training to be Audrey's guard and you pull this?" Mya asked.

Amyra didn't look up at Mya.

"It wasn't her fault!" I said quickly.

Mya and Elena looked at me. "What are you talking about."

"It... It was my idea to go into the tree! She fell out when I... Er. Was spooked by a spider and bumped into her!" I lied. I felt bad lying to the head captain and the doctor, but I couldn't let them scold her for something that was an accident.

Elena blinked at me while Mya crouched down in front of me. "You're not lying are you?" Mya asked.

I shook my head. "Why would I lie? Especially to you."

Mya stared at me for a minute before sighing. "Alright. Amyra. Be more careful next time. Me and you mom don't have the time to deal with this. Your mom has to take care of Luz and I have other stuff to do." Mya said sternly.

Amyra nodded. "Yes mom..."

Elena crouched down in front of Amyra. "You know we love you. We're just busy."

Amyra nodded. "I know..."

Elena leaned over and kissed her daughter's cheek and stood up and smiled at her wife.

Mya smiled back. The two shared a quick kiss before. Saying their goodbyes.

"It's good your moms love each other." I commented.

Amyra watched her wrist, not taking her eyes off of it. "Yeah.. I guess."

Worry prickled under my skin. "Amyra... What's wrong?" I reached over over her hand and held it tight.

She pulled her hand away. "I'm fine." She grumbled.

"Amyra.. You're-" I started but my friend was quick to cut me off.

"I SAID IM FINE! WHY ARE YOU SO NOSY!" She yelled.

Her outburst caught me off guard.. she had never yelled at me like that before... I would be lying if I said it didn't hurt. I fought back my tears and fisted my hands.

"Amyra what is up with you... You never act like this." I growled, blinking back my tears.

Amyra eyed me before turning away. "I'm fine. Stay out of it would ya." She growled before walking off.

I couldn't hold it in anymore. Hot tears ran down my cheeks. I didn't know what was wrong with my friend, but she wasn't the Amyra I knew.

I laid in bed. My tears had ran dry but I was still hurt.  I heard a knock at the door but I ignored it. Another loud knock.... After the third knock, the door was opened. I didn't have the energy to look back at who came in.

"Audrey?" I heard the familiar voice of Amity.

I just curled up, I didn't want to talk. I listened to her footsteps echo through the room. She stopped beside my bed, her shadow hovering over me.

"What's wrong with you." Amity asked, sitting on the bed beside me.

"Why should I tell you!" I snapped. I instantly regretted snapping at her.

"Now I know something is wrong. You never snap at anyone. Not even that library kid you hate." She said calmly.

I sat up to face her. "Sorry about... I'm just not in the best mood today..."

Amity shrugged. "I've heard worst. So why are you upset." She asked.

"Well first it was Luz... and how she had that panic attack... Which by the way, have you talked to her." I asked..

She nodded "I have. She's feeling better. It still hurts to move a bit but besides that she's better." She said.

"How about her being queen? She still don't want to be queen?" I asked.

Amity shrugged. "She seems to be a lot more content about the idea... Though she still doesn't think she's ready yet."

I nodded. "That's good..."

Amity reached up and pointed at me. "But we're talking about you kiddo. What has you upset besides Luz."

"Amyra... We were sitting in a tree together and she fell out... She sprained her wrist from landing on it. After we talked to her moms she got all defensive and yelled at me. She's upset about something but she won't tell me.." I blinked back my tears again.

Amity thought for a moment... "has anything been bugging her?"

I shook my head. "Not that I'm aware of. The only thing that really bugs her is how hard her mom is on her... but Mya is only hard on her when they're practicing." I commented. Then I thought about it. "She hates disappointing her moms... When we went to her Elena to take care of her wrist, neither seemed to pleased Amyra got hurt.. They seemed more disappointed then worried."

Amity smiled at me.. "Maybe that's the problem. Try talking to her."

I nodded. "Maybe I will..."
