Chapter 22

Willow's POV

Amity lunged at Luz. Their swords met with a loud clank. I looked over at Gus. "Man. Amity is lasting longer than I thought it would." I commented.

Gus shrugged. "She's been practicing a lot recently."

I turned my attention back to the two fighting lovers. Amity had back Luz up near the wall.

"Whatcha going to do now love?" Amity said threateningly.

Luz looked back behind her. "Oh Ammy. You know I love you... But you're not going to win." She chuckled. "You forget I was an assassin." Turning around, running full strength, she jumped up on the wall, pushing off the wall and flying over Amity with a pretty satisfying flip.

Amity stared with her jaw opened slightly. She then shook herself out of the day dream. "Gods.. Why do you bless me with this wonderful girl." She laughed before lunging.

Luz ducked under the sword, grabbed Amity's shirt collar, jerked her back into a dip, a gentle smile on her face with the sword to Amity's throat. "I think I won."

Amity rolled her eyes. "Fine you win." She chuckled.

Luz helped Amity up. "Hey Gus. Wanna take a spin with Amity?"

Gus shrugged. He reached for his sword and stood up. "Let's dance."

Luz walked past Gus and then spoke. "Make sure not to hurt her to much. I need her for tonight." She jokingly flirted.

Amity's face turned a deep red. "You know what Luz. I'll sleep in a different room."

"No you won't. You can't sleep alone." Luz called.

Amity hesitated as if she knew Luz was right. "Shut up." She growled.

Luz laughed before sitting down beside me. "She's crazy.." I muttered.

"Yep. That's why I love her." Luz chuckled.

Just behind Gus and Amity, I could see Boscha... Talking to Diamond... I wrinkled my nose.

Luz must have noticed. "You should talk to her. It obviously bothers you."

In response, I snapped. "I'll talk to her when you talk to your dad." When I said it I wish I could take it back. I'm not proud of what I said.. The hurt in Luz's eyes were unmistakable. "Luz I-"

The Latina turned away. "Don't." She growled.

She had the right to be angry. I shouldn't have said that. I knew Luz always had trouble with her dad and not having him there, now she's recently lost her stepfather and only just learned the name of her father. You can't blame her for not making contact yet.

"Luz!" I looked over at the castle doors where Audrey stood.

"What's up?" Luz called, there was an edge to her voice.

Audrey walked over. She was holding a letter. "We got this letter. It's addressed to you.."

Luz blinked at the letter before taking it. "Who could be sending me a letter?" By now both Amity and Gus had paused their fighting a met us over at where we were sitting.

The soon to be queen studied the back of the letter, were it was coming from. Her eyebrows raised. "Hmm. It's from the Phiven Kingdom.."

Amity raised an eyebrow, "what does King Jinn and King Rowan want?"

Luz groaned. "Oh boy... They're coming here for the coronation." She muttered.

Amity eyes lit up. "Really! That's amazing!" She gasped. "King Jinn and King Rowan has one of the strongest militaries, combined with with the size and strong Cordova's military is..We could take down Leroy."
