Audrey's POV
(Short chapter)

Amyra stayed in her room the rest of the day. I know Natalia offered to talk to her but she told me Amyra refused to let her in.

I walked up to her door. I reached for the knob and turned it, it was locked.. She never locked her door. I knocked ji. "Amyra!" No answer. I knocked a few more times, "AMYRA!"

I flinched hearing the door rattling. It opened. "Yes?" Hostility hovered in her voice.

"You worried me, you never lock your door..." I commented.

She shrugged. "Okay? That gives you an excuse to break down my door?"

My worry began to mix with anger. "If I wanted to I could easily break this door down."

Amyra rolled her eyes. "Alright? I get it, you have magic.."

"Amyra whats up with you."

Amyra blinked at me. "I've just been stressed..." she muttered.

I reached for her hand but she pulled away. "Amyra I'm here, you know that?"

Amyra nodded, "I know.. But I can't talk to anyone about this.. Not even you."

I cawing bird made us both flinch. I could see in her room, a bird sat on her balcony with a letter attached to it. Amyra furrowed her brows together.

"Look, Audrey, I have to go." Amyra hissed. I began to argue but she shut the door in my face.

"AMYRA!" I shouted, but no matter how loud I was, the door stayed shut. I let out a sigh. I flinched hearing Amyra yell. I drew a quick wind spell. "Áspero!" I shouted, a strong gust of wind pushed the doors down. I ran in not even thinking of the trouble I was going to get in.

Over on the balcony, I could see Amyra sitting on the railing looking down.

"AMYRA DONT!"

Amyra looked back at me a confused look on her face. "Audrey what are you talking about!"

"You're not going to?"

Amyra stared at me. "GOD AUDREY, NO! I may be stressed but I'm not suicidal! I'm 13, I'm to young to die!" She growled.

I looked down at my feet. What was I thinking, I knew Amyra better than that.. "well.. Even some of the happiest people can be pushed so far..." I muttered.

Amyra scoffed and turned away. I walked over and leaned against the railing. "So...."

"So?"

We sat quietly, obviously neither of us knew what to see.

"You broke my doors." Amyra mumbled.

I glanced back at the doors and looked at down at the ground. "Oh... Um , that." I chuckled nervously.

Amyra rolled her eyes. "It's fine."

"So why did you yell just then?" I asked.

Amyra hesitated.. She shook her head.. "it's not important..." I muttered.

"Well obviously it is! You never yell like that." I argued.

Amyra was quiet as she watched the ground. "Sure I do... In my pillow." She joked.

I scowled at her and lightly shook my head. "Fine.. Don't tell me."

Amyra looked back at me. She turned to face me. "Audrey, look at me."

I looked up at her narrowing my eyes. "What."

"I'm not telling you so I can-"

"Keep me safe... I know." I growled softly.

She nodded. "Exactly." She looked out at the woods... she made that face like she always did when she was about to do something stupid.

"Amyra.. What ever you plan on doing, don't!" I lectured.

"What are you? Reading my mind?" She laughed lightly.

"I wish, then we wouldn't be in this situation, because I can help." I fussed.

Amyra replied with a friendly shrug. "But that's not going to happen." She grinned.

I frowned at her. She always did this when she was upset. "Amyra whatever's happening I can help.. Luz can help."

Her grin faded and she shook her head. "No... She can't and neither can you." She stated.

I clenched my fist. "Why are you so difficult."

"Because if I wasn't you wouldn't be the sensible one." She remarked.

"You're so frustrating." I muttered.

"Only to you." She purred.

I eyed her, I hated how she was turning this serious matter into a joke! A reminder came to mind.. I glanced down at my runes.. They weren't glowing.... Maybe because we haven't kissed?

"What's wrong?" Amyra asked.

"Amyra... What if we're not soulmates?"

(Sorry for the late chapter. I wasn't sure how I wanted to write this chapter. I haven't been in the writing mood. Plus my creativity just hasn't been working and I've been working on a new project that will probably posted after this Au finishes. Anyways, enjoy the drawing.)
