Amity's POV
Willow pulled the cart to a stop. I could hear her talking to Luz, but I didn't bother trying to listen.
Clacking of horses hoofs told me Luz was close to me. I looked up at the assassin who grinned at me cutely. Wether she meant it or not, it was adorable.
"Yes?" I chuckled.
"Come on. We're going to stay here until your leg is fully healed." She said cheerfully.
"Won't that be a while?"
"Not with a proper doctor. Willow's done all she could with herbs, but with proper medicine you'll heal up quickly." Luz comforted.
I nodded. As I got off the cart, Luz had made her way to the hitching post and hitched King.
"Me and you will check into this Inn for everyone." Luz said before going up the steps and into the Inn.
Casually, I limped after her. Still wearing Luz's cloak from the night before, I pulled the hood up.
Once in, I walked up to the counter and smiled. Deciding we were far enough that no one would recognize my name. "Hi! I'm Amity Blight and this is my friend Lu-"
Luz interrupted me with a fake cough. I looked at her with a raised eyebrow. She eyes a wanted poster that had her name and face on it, yet her hair in the picture was long and she was wearing a mask making it hard to make out face details.
"Oh! Um." Thinking of a fake name for my friend one came to mind. "Lucy Noce..." I lied. "We're stopping by for a bit and wanted to check in. We have two more outside with our horses and stuff.."
The lady nodded. "And what's their names?" She muttered.
"Willow Park and Gus Porter." Luz said quickly.
The lady wrote down the names. She looked up and smiled. "Alright. Room five." She passed me a key before narrowing her eyes at Luz.. Her green gaze eyed the assassin and the wanted poster. "You look an awful lot like this Luz Noceda."
That wasn't good. I looked to Luz, who's eyes were wide. "Oh no. Lucy here is a distant cousin of Luz, so they're bound to look similar!" I said quickly.
The lady looked convinced and nodded. "Alright."
I nodded and limped away to the other room. Once out of ear shot and eye shot, I exhaled all the air I was holding.
"That was close..." Luz muttered.
I faced her and narrowed my eyes. "What did you do to be wanted here!" I fussed.
"I killed their mayor." She flatly said.
"SERIOUSLY!" I whispered.
"What! It was a mission! It's what I do!" She argued.
It wasn't worth an argument. "You go let everyone know that we have a room. I'll go to our room." I ordered. The assassin smirked mischievous. Not going to lie, it worried me. "What?"
"Nothing. You're just cute when you get bossy." She flirted. Not sure if she meant to flirt or not, but that's what it felt like.
I let out a little squeak and shoved her. "JUST DO WHAT I ASKED!" I hissed.
Luz laughed. She turned away and walked off. I sighed and limped up the stairs. I stopped by the room. I smiled thinking of Luz. She was hard to say no too.
