Luz's POV

I sat on the side of my bed. It was my first morning out of the infirmary. My side aches but it wasn't terrible.

I pushed my hair out of my face and sighed. The sun wasn't even up yet... Amity was still asleep, and the room was quiet...

I flinched hearing a knock on the door. I didn't want them to wake Amity, so I got up and walked over to the door. I slightly opened the door and could see María... I hated this council member. I growled quietly to myself before opening the door.

"Do you need anything?" I asked.

The Hispanic woman began to step in but I lightly pushed her back. "Amity is still asleep. Plus I don't want you in my room." I growled.

The council member clutched her hand. "Fine.... I needed to talk to you." She muttered. I leaned against the door way and raised an eyebrow, showing my interest. "I needed to ask you... When will you contact your father?"

I blinked at her. "That is none of your business! It's up to me when I contact him!" I growled. "Who's to say I even want to contact with him." I growled.

A sinister grin appeared on her face. She handed me a piece of paper. "I don't think you'll have a choice." She smiled before turning away.

This council member always left me nervous... No matter how confident I was... I backed up into my room. While unfolding the paper, I shut the door by pushing it with my foot. I walked over to the desk by the window and sat down, the light of the rising sun made is easier to read.

"Dear Amity, I heard you were in Cordova... I was able to get away from the castle after I was fully healed.. I'm starting my journey to see you. -Harry Noceda."

I stared at the letter, anger, confusion, sadness and so many more emotions were mixed together. My father was coming here.... But not even for me...  He was coming for Amity... with all my anger I ripped up the letter and stood up, knocking my chair over, it made a loud crash..

I heard Amity's little gasp. "Huh?" I heard the creaking of the bed strings, and before I knew it I felt hands on my shoulder. "Luz-"

I turned around and pushed her away, nearly knocking her down. "DONT TOUCH ME!" I snarled. I could see hurt and confusion flickering in her eyes but I honestly didn't care.

"Luz, what is wrong with you?" Amity glared at me, she was confused.

"MY FATHER IS COMING HERE AND YOU DIDNT TELL ME!" I thundered.

Amity's eyes went wide as if she wasn't ready for that. ".... What? How did." She looked behind me at the ripped up letter.

I wrinkled my nose and covered my face. "AND HE'S NOT EVEN COMING FOR ME!" I hissed.

Amity must have understood that I didn't want her comfort since she didn't make a movement towards me.

I backed up to the desk and placed my hand on the desk. I looked up at Amity. "Why... Why wouldn't you have told me!" I asked. "He's my damn father!" I muttered.

Amity avoided my gaze. "I was planning on it... But, I couldn't find the right moment..."

"So what, you were going to wait for him to arrive and... And not mention anything." I growled looking up at her.
