Amyra's POV

Snow...

Snow was now beginning to fall. I knew the ride back to Cordova was at least 6 hours, but I didn't expect snow of all things!

The cold winds nipped at my exposed bare skin. I shuddered—my coat wasn't doing much to keep me warm.

I couldn't help glancing over my shoulder after every few minutes, or any sound. I'm paranoid today... I'm terrified of seeing Leroy riding up on his horse, ready to kill me. I shuddered at the thought.

I don't think it's normal for a 13 year old to be handling all this stress and pressure..

King let out a loud neigh, breaking me out of my trance. I looked down at the horse. He lowered his head. He was probably as cold and tired as I was.

"Come on. We can rest here." I climbed off of him and led him to a near by stream to rest.

I stopped at the stream.. Ice was forming over the water. I let out a quiet groan before reaching for a rock, tossing it in, breaking the thin layer of ice.

King neighed gratefully before dipping his head into the water. I sighed and leaned against a tree. The wind blew by, it was chilling to the bones. I couldn't imagine what it is like up at the north.

I sat down.. I was just ready to get back home... I looked back down the path.. No one... Raya must have kept up on her promise.

I curled up in a ball to stay warm. I looked at King who was now laying down. I shivered. I was kinda hoping we could get a move on after he was done drinking.. I suppose not.

I curled up tighter. It was way to cold to be out here, and in the middle of the night no less. I paused hearing loud running steps. I looked down the direction I came from.. No one. I looked back down the other way. A horse with a small carriage attached to it was running down the path, With someone in it and another coaching it.

The man coaching it yanked the horse to a stop as soon has he reached me. It took me a minute to recognize Asher, the man who made sure Jessie didn't get into trouble.

"Amyra?" He gapped. "What are."

"I left the camp earlier." I explained quickly. "What are you doing here?"

He looked back in the carriage. "I was delivering weapons to the scouts."

I blinked. "Scouts? What scouts."

"We have some scouts who are watching the camp and prepared to attack at any time." He explained.

I stared at him in disbelief. Were they going to attack me if I was still in there?

"Do you wanna come?" Asher said.

I shook my head. "No.. I just wanna go home."

"But you look freezing." Asher pointed out.

"Yeah? Well it's the middle of the night. It's going to be freezing." I said with a little bit to much venom.

"The sun should be coming up soon.. It's not exactly the middle of the night. It's 5:34 AM." Asher told me, looking down at his pocket watch.

I hesitated.. "No. I'm just going to go home." I stood up slowly before walking over to King. He didn't get up at first but when I offered a treat he stood up straight away and let me climb up on his back..

"It was good seeing you Amyra." Asher nodded before riding off.

"Yeah... You too."

The castle was finally in view. I was now walking beside King through town. Over thirty people asked me if I was Amyra, it was getting really sickening. I was cold and tired, I didn't have time to deal with townspeople.

Suddenly three girls ran out in front of me beaming. "You're Amyra Wilson right!" One asked.

I rolled my eyes and nodded. "Yes I am. Why?"

"WE'RE SUCH BE FANS!" Another squealed.

"Can we have a strand of your hair." The last one asked creepily.

"Huh? You guys look a lot older than me.." I said.

"So we're 18 doesn't matter!" The first one said.

I blinked at them. "Okay that's Bella creepy. Asking a 13 year old for a strand of her hair." I addressed. I quickly climbed on King and rode around them. Why do people keep stopping me!
