Chapter 39

Amyra's POV

When I rounded the corner. I froze not seeing Audrey.. I could've sworn the servants said she came this way.

"Audrey?" I called.

I lumbered forward.

CRUMBLE

"Hmm?" I glanced down, a piece of paper was under my left crutch. I reached down and picked it up. I study the paper.. Blank... I scoffed, I didn't have time for this.

I looked up. "Audrey!" I called.

I would be lying if I said if i said I wasn't getting nervous.... I literally just saw her..

"Hey Amyra.. Whats going on?" I looked back seeing Aubrey. The prince was a pretty quiet guy.. I hadn't seen him in a while.

"I can't find Audrey." I told him.

He blinked at me. "Weren't you just with her."

"Well, I mean yeah. But she stuffed a snowball in my face before I could go after her. Plus I'm not exactly the fastest on my crutches." I argued.

He shrugged. "Guess I should've thought bout that." He murmured. "Come on. We can both look for her."

We spent all day looking and found nothing... Aubrey finally came up with the idea to let Luz and Camilla know that Audrey was gone. Pity welled up in my chest.. Luz already had so much going on and Camilla had lost so much.

"Alright.. You can go tell your mother, I got Luz." I muttered.. "Or Amity.. Whoever I find first." I shrugged. I turned away and began lumbering through the halls..

It didn't take long to find Luz, but she was busy with war planning... And now that I wasn't a knight anymore, I wasn't aloud in the war room.. I mean, I get why my parents did it... But still..

"Amyra?" I flinched hearing Amity.

"Amity!" I yelped. "I need to talk to you!" I added quickly.

"Well, I was about to go into the war room.." She muttered.

"I need to talk to Luz as well!" I replied.

Amity hesitated, she obviously was big on this idea.

"It's about Audrey... She's gone!" I whimpered. "We were talking this morning and she ran off while messing with each other, and when I turned the corner she was gone!"

"Maybe she's hiding?" Amity suggested.

"My and Aubrey spent all day looking for her!" I whimpered. "She's no where in the castle."

Amity stared at me, but nodded. "Alright. I'll inform Luz." She told me.

I stepped aside and nodded. "Please."

Amity walked into the war room. I let out a sigh.. I honestly wasn't shocked Amity didn't quite believe me.. I had done my part, so I started up to my room. When I got there I paused seeing my doors broken down... I had forgotten all about that.

I huffed and limped in. Seeing a letter on my bed just mad me madder. I limped over and picked it up.

"If you want you're girlfriend back, meet out in the woods... -Natalia."

I would be lying if I said I didn't expect this.. The thing that surprised me is that they were able to get Audrey.. Audrey May have been a princess but she could kick anyone's butt. If Natalia wasn't here...  An idea came to mind.

I hurried to the war room. Wether I was or wasn't a knight, I needed to tell Luz and Amity. When I reached the war room, I could see Amity assembling some knights.

As much as I needed to talk to her, I wasn't planning on getting caught entering the war room. I quickly snuck past, or as quietly and quickly as one on crutches could sneak past.

I pushed the doors to the war room open.

"Amity, you've-" Luz paused seeing me.. King Jinn blinked at me.. I assume his husband, King Rowan left to run their kingdom. "Amyra... What are you doing in here?"

I didn't answer her, just moved forward. "I know where Audrey is."

Luz wrinkled her nose, "then why did you tell us she was missing.. I don't have time for jokes."

"I wasn't joking... This will take a minute to explain." I muttered. I began to explain.. Luz and King Jinn watched me carefully. "And then I got this." I placed the note down on the table. "They want me to spy. They've been pestering me about it since the coronation."

Luz's eyes went wide. "Since the coronation! That's been..."

"Over a month, yeah I know." I muttered.

"So if we play this right... Amyra could become a very important role in this war." Said King Jinn.

"And how do you suggest that?" Luz asked.

"We know that Natalia is a spy as well... Take her off the council.. Make sure she can't do anything.. Amyra will go and agree to be a spy.. One so we can get Audrey back, and two, so we can get information." He said.

I shifted my weight slightly, I'm not to sure how I feel about that idea...

Luz glanced over at me. "I don't know.. Risking Amyra like that? Not to mention if anything happens to Amyra, Mya and Elena will have my head." She turned to me fully. "You up to do this Amyra?"

I hesitated... "being a double spy? What do I tell them... They expect me to come back with information!"

Luz nodded. "Hmmm."

"Just tell him some fake stuff. Like where we store our stuff and such. Just lie about it." King Jinn told me.

I looked down. "Alright... I'll do it..."
