Luz's POV
I walked along side Willow. The medical assistant was right. It was to early to be thinking of that, besides, I had other things going on.
Willow stopped. "The council should be waiting in there for you." She told me. "I have to go meet with Elena to check if any knights have injuries." She muttered.
I nodded. "Alright."
Willow smiled at me weakly. "Hey. Don't ditch the idea. Just give it a while. I don't think the middle of a coronation is the best time to talk about it." She said before turned away and walking off, giving a light wave.
I pushed the doors to the council room open. I could see the six council members. They were the council members my mother and stepfather chose.
Javier was the first person to realize my entrance. "Queen Luz." He laughed.
I cringed at the name. I wasn't prepared for that. "Morning Javier." I smiled at him.
Natalia smiled at me. She was the youngest out of all the other council members. She was around my age if I'm correct and she was also Javier's daughter.
"Queen Luz! It's nice to see you! You're so much more prettier in person!" She smiled. "Queen Amity is lucky to have you."
I froze. Before I could correct the council member her father beat me to it. "Correction mi hija, Amity and Queen Luz aren't married yet. Eventually they will be but not now." Javier explained.
I kinda just stood there, not sure what to say.
Natalia blinked at me then at her father. "But, I heard her and Amity talking about kids earlier."
Javier looked at me. "Really? Kids?"
I felt my face burning, now every council member was staring. "Well. We were talking about what the council could do and the idea of kids got brought up. You know what I don't have to explain myself!" I growled.
Elizabeth chuckled, "of course you don't Queen Luz. We're only teasing." She laughed.
Maximus nodded. "After all you're the Queen."
I shook my head. "Not yet. But I need to talk to all of you." I watched as the council retreated to their seats. "So. The ceremonial dress."
María nodded. "Yes. You're mother wore it and looked beautiful in it."
"Well. I don't want to wear it." I spoke quickly.
The council members gasped and shared worried glances. "But it's ceremonial. Every queen has worn it." María growled softly.
I nodded. "Yes of course! But if I'm going to be queen I want to be myself. So I was thinking... I would wear the ceremonial suit.. The one that the kings wear." I suggested.
"The ceremonial suit...." Nicolás muttered. "Why would you wear that?"
"Because. I want to be myself! Fuel others that you don't have to follow every transition!" I looked at my feet. "I could also be closer to Kage..." I muttered. Sure I had gotten over the death, but it still hurt.
María furrowed her brows. "No! That's not how it works!"
"Hold on María." It was Natalia that spoke. "She's still wearing something ceremonial, why should it matter? It'll allow her to be herself but still follow tradition." She said.
Elizabeth nodded. "It sets an example that not every person is the same. I see nothing wrong with it." She smiled.
María went to argue but Nicolás interrupted. "There's no reason to argue. Elizabeth and Natalia makes a good points. Javier, you're the head council member. What do you think."
