SOLEIL POV
To be continued
I knocked on my mother's room door as I finally got here to figure out why she called me crying.
"It's me mama" I said and she quickly opened the door and pulled me in for a hug.
I hugged her back and said "Why you crying?"
"Come in, just come in" She said as I walked all the way in her room and she shut the door behind me. She pulled out a chair for me, and I sat down.
She sat on the edge of her bed, and rubbed her face.
"I just seen your father." She said.
"Ooooh." I said.
I completely forgot he was gone see her today. Now it all makes sense.
"And it was just- He really didn't take me back Soleil. He really likes Diana." She said as she started crying again.
"Oh, mama.." I said as I stood up and sat beside her on the bed, wrapping one arm around her.
"It's so weird, I always thought after everything we'd be back together and knowing that that may not be the case hurts my heart. I love Trayvion with everything in me Soleil. I really do." She said.
"I know you do.." I said.
"And I just feel like man it's really over.. I don't know. I still have hope but he made it seem like I'd be hoping for nothing. He kept saying he cares about Diana and doesn't wanna jeopardize their relationship. In my opinion it's all wrong. She had other priorities, she's been looking out for you since you were eleven. She needed to focus on that, not getting busy with my ex. My ex who's still my man though. Don't get it twisted. I don't care what nobody say, Trayvion deep down is still mine. And me and him both know that." My mom said.
"Chile... I don't even know what to say." I said sighing.
I definitely didn't wanna be involved in this.
"I know you love Diana but she's wrong for this for real. She really is." My mom said and I didn't say anything.
At the end of the day, Diana still has a life outside of her job. So if she wants to date my dad then that's her right.
But I wasn't gone say that to my mom right now, because she's clearly not in the space to hear that. And I understand. So.
"I just think maybe a conversation between you and Diana-"
"I do not wanna talk to her. It's not gone end well." My mom said.
"Oh yeah then never mind." I said.
"I just don't understand this. I understand your father waited on me but come on I just wasn't ready yet. None of you would understand because none of you were addicts like I was. It's hard to let that stuff go. Even now, as I'm sober in the program it's hard for me but I'm doing it because I want to live a long, healthy life. And I don't wanna be drugged up anymore. I just wasn't ready yet when he was, and now I am and he don't want me no more. Or at least that's what he says." She said as she sniffled and wiped her tears.
"Did he say it like that?" I asked.
"Nah, he was nice about it but it's just the point. I love him. I never stopped loving him, I've been in love with that man since I was thirteen years old. I can't even imagine loving someone else the way I love your father. Simple as that. I just thought we'd be back by now since I'm getting sober but apparently that's not the case." My mom said.
"Well... I'm here for you. And I hope you and my dad can at least be cordial even though you guys aren't together." I said.
"I can be cordial. Long as y'all keep Diana away from me. She's foul. Y'all think she's so nice and sweet-"
