Chapter 97

TREMAINE POV

"Wassup OG" I said to Soleil's dad as I opened the door for him. I called him this morning and asked if we could talk.

"Wassup man, how you doing" He said as we did the handshake then we hugged.

"I'm coo, I'm coo. How you doing?" I asked.

"I'm straight, one day at a time" He said and I shut the door behind him and we walked to the living room.

"Everything aight? Soleil okay?" He asked.

"Oh yeah she's fine, that's actually who I wanna talk to you about" I said.

"Oh aight, I'm listening, I'm listening" Her dad said.

"Well, me and Soleil been together for quite some time now.. And I never been so certain about somebody in my entire life. I knew when we were 14, the first time I ever met her, that she was gone be the person I spend the rest of my life with. I just knew." I said.

"That reminds me of me and her mother back in the day. So I get you." He said.

"Didn't y'all meet at 14 too?" I asked.

"13." He said.

"That's crazy" I said and he laughed saying "And I had that same feeling you had. Although me and her ain't together now, it ain't bad blood, I'll always have love for her you feel me"

"For sure. Soleil been the one, she's held me down through the good and bad, been my rider, she gives me pure love. In every aspect. She is everything I could ever ask for in a woman. I love her. I'm in love with her. And I don't want her to just be labeled as my girlfriend anymore." I said and he just looked at me.

"I want Soleil to be my wife." I said and he rose his eyebrows. I dug in my back pocket and pulled out the little box with the ring I bought.

I opened the box and showed him the ring and he grabbed it and looked at it. He smiled a little and poked his bottom lip out.

"Wow.." He said.

"And I wanted to talk to you because I wanted to ask you for her hand in marriage." I said.

He looked at the ring again, then looked at me and nodded his head. "First I just wanna say, you have been a blessing in my daughter's life aight? She been through a lot but you have been the person to bring her peace through every storm. I ain't ever gotta stress about her because I know you got her. And that's why my answer is yes. You can fasho have her hand in marriage."

I smiled and said "Thank you OG."

I was glad he was secure in knowing how much I love his daughter.

I've had this ring for almost a year now, I just wanted me and Soleil to be further in our relationship before I proposed. And now we're three years in, and I'm ready. I hope she is too.

I wanna propose to Soleil before she has the baby, if it was up to me we would get married before she has the baby too.

But I for sure wanted to propose to her before hand because we're getting closer and closer to the due date. And I just can't take it anymore. I want Soleil to be my wife, not my girlfriend.

"And I appreciate you coming to me first." He said as we shook hands, then hugged.

"Had to" I said.

"When do you plan on proposing?" He asked me.

"On Christmas at the dinner." I said. Me and Soleil were throwing a Christmas dinner with us and our family, and that's when I plan on proposing.

"Oh aight bet, so I'll be there" He said.
